I have Titleist 704.CB's that I'm thinking about paint filling. I noticed yours. Question: I usually use nail polish remover to get rid of the excess. Is that what you did, too? I'm worried about taking off the gray in the cavity back.

Those Tp's are sexy. Ya I used nail polish remover.

This is what they look like now...

I rlly like how u use the orange. I plan on going to Oklahoma State so i like the color a lot. Ur scotty has almost the exact same back paintfill as rickie fowlers shown on titleist's blog page.

Did the following to a Nike SV 58* wedge I had lying around last night and assembled today.

1. Pulled head

2. Added 4 ports in read of head

3. Removed all paintfill

4. Performed C Grind on sole

5. Stamped 58 next to SV to make loft identifiable again due to being removed during C grind

6. Sanded/smoothed sole after grinding

7. Scotchbrite entire head then smoothed out with palm sander

8. Torched head (this one didn't want to change colors evenly for some reason)

9. Water quenched

10. New paintfill

11. Doweled shaft

12. Reassembled

13. Oiled

What y'all think? Took me right at 2 hours working time (slightly less)

(Hopefully the colors show up right, took pics out in sun and in slight shade, after hitting it a few times to test it out of course)

Wut do You use to get ur c-grind and can i just buy one anywhere. Also How do u make one, I feel like i dont get enough bounce with my vokey 58.04 so i wanted to ad a bit of a sole grind to help the ball up in the air on my flop shots.

Go to Home Depot or Lowes an get some acetone. It will remove the paint in no time and not harm the metal.

i had my Cameron refinished and paint filled a couple years ago and it was quite expensive, i wanted to put my own little touch on my wedges so i began taking the paint off my Vokey black nickel wedges with nail polish remover, i happened to get most of it off with Q tips and tooth picks but am having trouble getting in the nooks and crannies to make it super clean before i begin painting. any advice to get them as clean as possible? maybe dip the club and let sit in the remover for a bit?

heres two photos of the Pro Platinum

I had the same problem. . .You have to get an old bowl and just let the club "bathe" in the acetone for awhile.

Then whatever is left, I carefully used a safety pin to get into the little areas and pick out the paint. . .

Here are my CB1's i stamped and painted them.

Your CB1's look great, how do you "stamp" your clubs? I would assume getting them extremely hot then pressing them into the metal, but still wanted to see how this was achieved and what you would need. I always see personalized wedges, but wasn't sure how they "stamped" the club.

Thanks,

Skyler

You do it with a "metal stamp." It has the # or letter on it and you hammer it in. There are some threads on here about stamping.

Hey all - just and FYI - I was at ACE Hardware picking up some acetone and found a "double-pick" among the nick-nacks they have for sale at the check out. It looks like a dental tool and works great for getting paint out of narrow spaces.

Finally gave this a try. I think the orange looks really good. Red looks good, but not as good as I thought. Need to get some really bright colors. Used a combo of a toothpick and very fine brush. I rubbed the excess off with the toothpick after about 10-15 minutes of drying. Tried the nail polish remover on a papertowel trick and it didn't work so good, at least for me. But next time, I will remove ALL existing paintfill instead of just painting over it.

However, i'm happy with the results.
