Well it's 8* and sunny today, little windy but I'm tempted to go to the old soccer field for some chipping practice :)

Funny you say this: temperatures are 10* +. My wife's given me a free pass for this afternoon. I'm attempting to find a course that will let me walk on as a single. My Wishon's are screaming to see the light of day.

Haha that's awesome, I'm sure you will find somewhere to play, even if you gotta play and executive par 3 course :)

Only open course here that I know of right now is 2.5h drive away lol

We had record snow here in the Minnesota two days ago but it's going to be GONE TOMORROW. I'm going to find some dirt grass in the park this afternoon and possibly make the first full swings in about 5 months or so. So stoked.

Back on topic. Pigems, my mother has bags of the polish but it's quite clear that not all brands are the same. Some of them are more runny and watery and others are nice and thick.

Got a favorite brand or how do you tell which ones are better for this work?

I don't really have a favorite brand as such but I have tried a few different ones at this point, for me it just more about getting the color I want mainly or as close to it as I can. But you are definitely right some are much more runny/thinner then others, for the thinner paints I have found it just takes an extra coat or two to get the nice bright color you want out of them. Another poster mention earlier in this thread or in another one maybe that the "Loreal" brand paint was nice and thick and covered well, I would have to agree that this is true from my experiences. It covers nicely and usually in one coat, I can't speak for the durability of any of these paints really as I have yet to get outdoors this year but it's held up well through a few rounds of sim golf though :)

If your unsure about a specific paint just try it on an old club first, you can always whipe it off and start over if you don't like it :)

These are the brands that I have tried so far. Loreal seems to be the thickest/ best covering of the ones I have tried so far. But I have been able to get the results in wanted out of any of them by using multiple coats with the thinner ones. :)

I mentioned in one of my posts that I did use L'Oreal. Stuff worked just right. I would assume it's more expensive though - I didn't pay for it, got it from mum.

Would like to see this thread rejuvenated with some recent paint fill jobs. I'll be posting mine when they come in next week

Here's some I did recently

Before:

Paint strip:

After:

Then my 56':

I want to do my golo 5r but I'm curious if the paint remover/acetone will remove the greyish paint on the face if I remove the red in "golo" shown here:
