How is everyones golf games?

Summer is coming to a close shortly!

Mine is alright played in a couple of money games and two little touranments and stroke average was aound 73. Not to bad since I really dont get to play/practice to much at all.

Started the year around 4.3, went up to a 7.4, and now down to 2.5 handicap. Lowest I've ever been! It's been a good year, as far as scores go. Haven't won much in tournaments though.

Started with lessons...so game fell back! Got busy at wk...so took another hit...then injured my left ankle and it is now farther than ever!

 

Same time last year I was down to a 4....now I am lucky to break 90! FFS!

Started early spring after playing all winter, at a 12.2 index, now down to a 7.0 and has been in the 7 range for 60 days. - the best it has ever been. Joined a great club in May. Played 44 rounds so far this year with great fall weather ahead here in Atlanta. Have won slightly over $1,000 via about 10 tournaments and another dozen or so dogfight money games. So my golfing life is good right now ...

After not touching my clubs for nine months I've played at least once every 2-3 weeks (a lot for me) since May and playing my best in years. Last five rounds have been in the 70s with a 76 at Superstition Springs today. Not striking my irons great, but making lots of boring pars and up-and-downs - just not giving myself good birdie opportunities. But I'll take boring, scrambling pars over bogeys any day.

I just started in January, so it has been a roller coaster year so far.

I started taking lessons in February which made a massive improvement.
Unfortunately my Pro goes back to Montana for the summer so it has been a little while and i am looking forward to a checkup in October when he gets back. Though it was probably good for me as he gave me a solid foundation and I had to spend the summer playing and learning how to really diagnose my own problems and work towards improving on my own.

I played an average of 2-3 times per week all summer, and I practiced about once a week.
I have worked my way down to shooting 95-100 most of the time, with a few 105+ sprinkled in when I lose my head.
I also shot an 88 a few weeks ago at Western Skies. I know exactly what I was doing right, but I haven't been able to get it back since.
A friend from work has reminded me that I am still very young in my golfing life, and that consistency will come with time. I just have a hard time waiting.

I plan on trying to keep up the play over the next few months, though I don't see myself being able to afford more than one or two rounds a week at most. I have the $50 unlimited balls membership at Kokopelli, so I think I will be trying to really work on developing a solid practice routine with my pro so I can keep up my skills.

Certainly would love to have like minded playing partners so I will keep an eye out here for chances to play with anyone else.

My personal goal is to consistently shoot 90 or less by this coming March or so, good luck to me.

What did you feel were the main differences between the 87 and your regular game?

The one time I broke 80 I noticed I was driving relatively straight so avoiding trouble, and I was making some clutch recovery chips.

The one time I broke 80 I noticed I was driving relatively straight so avoiding trouble, and I was making some clutch recovery chips.

Congrats on breaking 90! My game is a no go at the moment. Had wrist surgrey. But I get to play in a week!!!!!! Last round I played before getting cut was a 66 but from the up tees, 6600 yards, but it was the most painful thing ive ever done. Thank god for the 19th hole

i played 6144 yards where i broke 90 .. For me i believe it was recovery chips.. I was hitting 20~ 30 yd chip/pitch that were close to the hole and i was one putting for par.. Never had a birdie but had plenty of pars.. Its rare when im on in regulation but i have a good short game..

I started using my irons to run the ball from the fringe like my 7 iron to run the ball, minimal air time and maximum run time .. I use to try fancy flop shots where they run 4feet and back spin and i end up skulling them and it killed my game.. So nothing fancy for me yet.. and again thanks guys
