Ball Golf in OKC?

Hello, Okies. I was reading a forum today that had the top 100 Club Fitters in the US from Golf Digest. On the list was Ball Golf in OKC off Broadway Extension. Has anyone used them and how was it? Any info would be helpful. (Rates, shafts, brands, they are great / terrible because, etc.)

I lived in Edmond for high school and my father still lives up there. We are going to be making a trip up there for Christmas and I'd like to swing by Ball Golf, if it is really good. That of course brings up the next question. I have not been to OKC in the winter in almost twenty years. In La, we might get a little cold but there are usually a few December days that creep up to the 70-80 range. I've read on Ball Golf's website that they only do outdoor fittings(which I like). I'm thinking club fitting with thermals and a heavy coat would not give good results. My slice is bad enough already. Is golf around Christmas even possible up there?

I've taken a couple of lessons with him a few years ago. Very good instructor for the long haul; not a "band-aid" type of instructor. He is expensive. Good video lessons.

His facility is awful, not very professional looking. Old range balls, uneven hitting areas, un-maintained grass areas, terrible chipping and putting areas.

He does outdoor lessons only, because he has a shack of an office. That being said, he is an authorized dealer for may top OEMs.

My sentiments exactly.

Call ahead before you go, they seem to be open at random times.

Also, weather around here at Christmas can vary. I've played golf on Christmas eve when temps were in the upper 40s/lower 50s, and recently on Christmas we had a total white-out blizzard and something like 16 inches of snow in 24 hours. So there's really no way of knowing!

Thanks Elo and Ben. That is what I wanted to know. I had concerns about them because their website was very poorly laid out and seemed to have the graphics of a bargain used car dealer. However, I think Harvey Penick taught out of a shack, too. I'm glad I asked. I would have hated to go over there expecting Taylormade Performance Lab and got Caddyshack instead. I was looking for custom fitting from a lot of places, saw one in OKC, and thought "hey, we are going up there soon". I might still call and go check them out, if only to get away from the kids after a six hour drive.

As far as the weather, I doubt even the great Gary England can see that far into the future, and my sister and brother in law were stuck in the Snopocalypse last year on their way down here. Odds are it will be too cold. I just thought I'd ask if golf hibernated from Halloween til Easter up there.
