Golf in Nov

Vegas
I am going to be able to play a round or two in vegas. I have played Wolf creek so that is off the list even tho I loved it so much I would drive out to play it. I was thinking The Wolf. My dad and I would be playing, price really doesn't matter since it is going to be pricey any which way we do it. I was thinking Shadow creek would be a good bet but I don't know if it is worth 500 bucks a man. For 500 bucks it better be the best course ever and I doubt it is. Not saying it isn't great but you guys know the point. Thanks for the help. Also right now it is looking like we are only going to be a 2some so any guys in the vegas area want to play some golf when I am in town?
Can't do the 10th as I'm playing on the 11th, BTW what time works good for you on the 13th? We are going to book it Sunday when we get our free round on Wolf :partytime2:

I have to bring up The Chase at Coyote Springs.... a little drive outside of Vegas, but WOW.

Some friends and I qualified last year for a big scramble tournament and went out there twice for the semifinals and quarter finals.
Amazing layout. One of my favorite courses I've played in the west. I will play there every time I go to Vegas (as long as it stays open as it's a failed home development).
The course was immaculate and features awesome undulation, waterfalls, risk/reward holes, and exceptional greens.

Watch this flyover and see for yourself:

Sounds good, just played it last Sunday and it's in fantastic shape.
That's great to hear. I'm flying in next week to visit some family, and my brother and I are set to play the Wolf at 7:21 AM on the 14th, We're going to try to get 36 holes in if we can. The time change will make it a challenge probably.

Just played it last Friday, it is a fantastic course in the middle of BFE!!! Super fast greens with tons of undulations.

Unless there is a big tournament going on, you should have no problem getting the first round done then a nice lunch (highly recommend either the tuscan chicken sandwich or steak sandwich) followed by a round at either Snow or Sun. Place does get pretty empty in the afternoon especially on a Monday.

I can not wait to play golf in the warm weather lol. I am already counting down the days!
Just a heads up, it has started getting cooler here. I woke up to 37 degrees and as I write this at 2:10 in the afternoon it is only 56 meaning that it's probably 53 up at Paiute so you may want to have cool weather gear with you.
Thanks. That's what Frank (the guy I talked to at Paiute) told me as well, and was why we picked that specific day. He told us we could order our lunches before we teed off for the first round and they would have them ready for us if we were time constrained.

Should we prefer Sun or Snow for the second round?

Thanks.

Can't go wrong with either one really. Personally I think Sun is tougher than Snow but each has it's quirks to make it a good round.

I am figuring when it comes to the golf week it will be back in the 60's. Today was 50 here and tomorrow is suppose to be in the 60's weird I know since I live in northern IL.

Bad news! Wolf is booked on Sunday for a tournament, we can book either of the other 2 courses or we can go somewhere else, I just saw there is a gathering at Legacy next Sunday for $55/each for my meetup.com group so that is an option for us.

Let me know what works for you and I'll get it booked for us.

You book it I will be there lol. Just let me know the time and price (price isn't a issue just a heads up is always nice tho lol)

how about this you book the one you like playing the most. My biggest thing is greens. I like them fast and firm I know that is hard to come by most the time tho...

I flew into Vegas last night, and we played Primm Valley Lakes today. It rained on the drive to the course, but never rained on us there, although we had a one club wind that kept it chilly enough to wear my Mizuno Windlite and wish I had some cart gloves. The course was in pretty good shape, and the greens were spectacular, rolling true and very fast from above the hole. Between the damp cold air and the wind, we should NOT have been playing the from the tips today, but two of the guys felt it necessary, so oh oh well.

The guys we were playing with were running super late so we got zero warmup, which made for a long day of trying to find a working swing, lol. Thank goodness my short game was better than usual, as it allowed me to scrape it around in 81, not a bad score for me, especially given how bad my ball striking was today.

I'm looking forward to a little warmer weather throughout the week and a few more rounds while I'm hear visiting family (and 36 at Paiute next Monday!).

That area always gets the wet weather compared to the northern parts of town, it was pretty raw out there today. Not the worst conditions I've played in by any means but just enough to affect the game, had the worst putting round I've ever put in as I couldn't get the speed down and I either left them way short or way past the hole. Otherwise, hit the ball pretty decent.
