TP Red - Alright but nothing special.

Penta TP - Best....Ball...Ever...Made
[/quote]

Played them this weekend and scored very well because if the greenside spin. It does spin a bit more for me off the driver but it felt better and I didn't lose too much distance as I was in my usual locations in each fairway. It did get scuffed more than the TP Red but it still lasted the whole round. Better feel off the putter with the Penta too.

I also am a Penta lover over the TP Red LDP. I bought into all the hype and bought 2 dozen and they are nothing to write home about. Not a bad ball but just doesnt compare to the Penta and other high spin balls when it comes to sticking on the greens. Maybe if its really a soft green I might play the TP RED LDP but on normal conditions not the best ball for me.

Try the 2011 Pro V1x. It's a monster off the tee and awesome into the greens with perfect amount of spin.

Driver is my worst club and found penta spun too much on my bad drives. Love the TP Red and not sure what I will do after I run out. Going to have to search for one this year.

Wait till you all hit the Penta TP5...things is great! Feels like the TP Red LDP off the driver and wedges, spins a touch more on approach shots and wedges, but is really solid on the long clubs...! It really does share alot of the good characteristics of the TP RED LDP! When I first hit it, it just was like going into the past and feeling that ball!

i'm gonna be skeptical of this claim until i try it...i too LOVED the TP RED LDP (and yes, loved it BEFORE the price discounts); i have 2 sleeves left of the red ldp...they simply fly longer off the driver and are more consistent off the scoring clubs than the Penta...for my game, the Penta was not anywhere close to the red ldp, or even the '11 prov1

Somewhere I read that the Penta TP5 is all around "softer" than the current Penta. I already spin the Penta way too much on approach shots so I can't imagine how the new ones would be. I hope you're right that it feels like the TP Reds, like many on here, I am down to just a few sleeves.

Here's where I compare the TP Red LDPs to current balls...IMO and experience:
Distance, similar to Srixon Z Star XV
Feel/Spin, similar to 2011 Pro V1x

Got REALLY lucky and found a small stash of another 4 dozen, I should have enough now to live another day!! I am not a fan of the Penta at all and just haven't had any luck finding a ball with this kind of pop. Do I recall somebody mentioning something about this ball being found to be HOT??? I can't recall...BB

i know it can differ player to player but for me these balls dont even come close to the spin of a ProV1x, more like the spin on the Zstar or the tour one D.

I agree about the XV being similar for sure. I spin the Penta no more than I spun the TP RED, just drops and stops on normal wedges. I can spin it , if I hit it to do that. The new TP5 just feels sooooo gooodd, to me more similar to the TP Red then the current Penta. It is definetly longer then the current Penta also. Got to try them guys.
