I love TW but I'm 61 and I play longer courses than they just played.

The jury is still out.
Agreed.

Also, more than 20 or so other world class players weren't in the field (Westwood, Donald, kaymer, G-Mac, Lefty, Schwartzel, etc...), whose presence may well have knocked Tiger out of the top 10

What does that even mean? In relation to him not having to use driver all that much? Course length does not necessarily equal course difficulty. Eg - Matt Kuchar...only missed 3 cuts this year, and that course was one of them. And the cut was at +2!

Tiger and Phil will fight over Masters 2012 and lord help anyone who gets in their way.

I'd love to see McIlory do it but I'm not yet convinced about his ability to close (on the golf course I mean)
Highly unlikely he is ever going to have the luxury of a massive lead in a major like he had at Congressional.

Tiger demonstrated great control with the irons yesterday, but he always has. He hit some good drivers, but still fighting it on a few holes. This looked like a strange golf course to me. Irons off the tee on par 5s and you can still go at the green? He was hitting a lot of irons off the tee, yet the fairways were very wide. He's getting there, but not there yet.

Was disappointed in Jason Day yesterday. Still not convinced he will be a good closer.

Was Tiger playing a special short course while everyone else was playing a 7500 yard course? Or did they all play the same course? From reading these comments one would think that Tiger got to play some easy course with a bunch of 15 handicaps so his third place finish wasn't that good.

Or did he play the same course as everyone else, against a pretty good field, and finished third?

Yes. He definitely reestablished himself as one of the top players in the world.

The kid's still young, still learning. Augusta National is tailor made for Rory. He will win multiple Masters and have a Hall Of Fame career.

Tiger will win the first tournament where he posts four consecutive rounds in the 60s. I'm picking Torrey Pines.

Sunday. (Well, actually late Saturday night if you're here in the U.S.) That's when.

I have been saying since summer that he will win 2 majors and 7 total tournaments in 2012. People called me crazy and delusional.

I'm still sticking to that prediction.

tiger looked better on the last day (whatever day of the week that was). He is still going to have to find a reliable driver swing and he still has the drop and pop move. The short game looked better and the putter showed signs of life. I don't think he will ever be as dominant as he was, but at least he looks like a contender.

Everyone could have a different definition of "greatness".

In my opinion, he is already "back". Everyone will have a different view of what "back" means, but from what I saw this week, he is back, in my opinion. His game is finally back, his confidence is there, and he's playing really, really well. a 3rd place finish and -11, only 2 shots behind the winner, is "back" for me.

"Greatness" may be different. If that means a win, then I'll say the Chevron World Challenge in a few weeks.

They are pumped. Great expectations, you might think the Green Jacket is a lock at this point.

EDIT: I was too late, yes the 2012 Masters already given to TW. You should at least give warning with SPOILER. :(

Tiger will win the Masters next year, and possible another major. At least 4 PGA wins also. Is that dominance? I think so! He will be back and will prove everyone wrong. I can't wait!
Me either. Can't wait to see all the Tiger haters pissed off when he wins 2 majors next year. Masters and the PGA at Kiawah Island. That's my prediction, and I'm sticking to it.

You'll never hear from them again....at least on any thread related to tiger. Once he does win it'll be like crickets....of course they can always fall back on their usual....."he'll still never catch Jack" comment....until that happens., then you just might see a mass exodus. Their predictability is comical..........mindless puppets.

He certainly looked better this week than in a couple of years (except for the Masters and his tournament)... I don't think he will ever return to greatness. However Johnny Miller makes a good point that he can have a nice second career. The only one that has never changed his tune on Tiger getting more than 18 majors is Jack Nicklaus.... Everybody else has gotten on and off the train particularly over the last two years... Probably the best overall article is the one where the author thinks that with the three swing changes Tiger more or less insured it will be very difficult to achieve 18 majors. Think of all the time he has spent rebuilding his swing. 1st time he won 7 of 11 majors, 2nd time he won 6 of 14 majors and all along had a 28% winning percentage. Now the drought in majors is again long and he is no longer winning other tournaments. As they pointed out the excuse for going to Hank was Butch's swing hurt his knee.. Most have said they have seen nothing in his Hank swing and his Foley swing that takes any stress off his left knee. In reality Foley's squat and release up is harder on the knee when coupled with the straight snap of the knee that he is now doing.. He does seem to have calmed it down on everything but his driver but that is the swing that wrecks the knee the most other than an odd stance on slippery surfaces.. It is a shame the amount of time he has wasted learning new swings when he could have been piling up the majors and wins.. I also doubt that using the Cameron for part of the tournament and switching to the Nike for the rest of the tournament will work over time. This time it did, but other times it did not---so his putting remains a crap shoot...
