Can I just say a MASSIVE thankyou to all who traveled to Australia for this great event. It was one of the great moments of my life period.

To FINALLY get to see the greats of world golf live was really something. Huge galleries, great atmosphere & the players in the majority were outstanding to the fans.

Obviously as an Aussie I would have loved to have seen an International victory + I think it would be good for presidents cup.

Freddy Couples is an absolute gentlement and champion. After a huge day out on course he has the grace to come and speak at the spectator function. The girl at the door didn't want to let him in because he had no wristband!!! I rushed over and told the girl that Freddie Couples can do whatever he likes! It Freddie, let him in! So graciously he gave us a quick photo even though he was in a rush. Was great fun too giving us all fist bumps. One new enourmous Freddy fan here.

Man I could go on and on forever. But it would be just self indulgent!

I'll leave it with a photo I found of one of my favourites KJ Choi - just look in the gallery at the goose with the blue shirt, white cap and enourmous grin- that's me!

Wow - memories to last a lifetime. Such a shame that it'll probably be that long until we get such a field to our shores again!!

Must of been a great week for you! I only wish I will get the chance someday to watch an event with so many great players there. :coolpics:

Perhaps there were reports on this which I missed, but was this the final event for Fluff Cowan?
The way Furyk hugged him after his final hole somehow looked like it. Also, Furyk had tears in his eyes when he was interviewed. It also seemed to me that Fluff really did not really look all that well. I hope everything is alright with him.

Yeah I noticed that too but I didn't think anything of it till I read your post. Hope Fluff is doing better than he looked out there.

just want to say that i thoroughly enjoyed watching the president's cup...i really felt spoiled to watch golf in primetime for a change! also, congrats to both sides for entertaining matches; i worked in australia for a bit, and i love the country and the people (even though i don't care much for greg norman as a person, i thought he was well spoken at the end, and i liked the gesture he made to stricker to help him find medical care); there are some calling for tweaks to the system because of US domination, but i don't see the need -- before long, the dominant golfers in the world WILL be asian; that said, one way to consolidate the affair into a more dynamic once-every-2-years event would be to simply carve up the world tours into teams -- US PGA tour members vs. European tour members (which essentially gives the US Ryder Cup team the Aussies and Koreans -- and they can divvy up the smaller world tours for one spot per team); the chip on the shoulder of the euros in the ryder cup is largely driven by euro tour players wanting to show their tour is up to snuff anyhow -- back to this year's Prez Cup...great captain job by Freddy, awesome recovery off the awful start by Tiger, amazing show of grit by the injured Stricker and a stunning performance by Furyk and Mickelson; on the "world" side, it was fun to get to see a dynamic unknown like Kim, and to see Badds recover after the early blowout (anyone who says he didn't play well vs. Tiger in the final match didn't watch the golf--Tiger would've beat anyone on the planet that round); and my final kudos go to the course, that place looks amazing, one of the greatest courses anywhere in the world, for sure

:clapping: Very good post and recap of a great golf tournament. You have summed it up very well. I also enjoyed it very much for all the same reasons that you listed.

Anyone else notice that whenever Ernie Els stands over a putt or full swing he does this weird full body seizure pre-shot routine? How long has he been doing this?

He does not look comfortable over the ball - especially when putting!

Els not overly impressed with Woods' play

Ernie Els did not have a match with Tiger Woods last week at the Presidents Cup, but the Big Easy did not walk away impressed with Woods' 2-3 performance at Royal Melbourne."I don't know if he made that strong a comeback, he only won two out of five matches," said Els at the South African Open, according to Sky Sports. "I know he won his singles match, but by then things were basically over."

Woods defeated Aaron Baddeley for the cup-clinching point by a 4-and-3 margin, posting the best performance of any of the 24 players in the session. Nevertheless, Woods was unable to carry partners Dustin Johnson and Steve Stricker to more than one win.

Els, however, gave Woods credit for bettering Els' mark.

"You know, two out of five, it's better than one out of five," he said.
