The anti ho club, longest living club in a WRXer's bag

Bought my first golf bag at 51 yrs old. Wilson 1200, driver-5W, 2-SW and a Ping Pal2, ss. On a whim, I bought a Ping Zing, Mg/Br, tried it 4 rds and put the Pal2 back in the bag. That was in 1994. This september, I bought a Ping, Craz-E iWi; Shaved four shots off my game within the first week. THAT one is staying in the bag for a long time to come. I still have my Wilson clubs at home along with a few other sets but, my Ping Pal2 is actually the ONLY putter I ever gamed until now. So, I've had my Ping Pal2 in the bag all of my golfing life, 14 years.

I was born in 89, so i really can't compete there.

My Ping G5 19* hybrid, I guess. Not sure when they came out, probably around 2005. I occasionally play with an old set of Ping eye 2 irons. Almost tempted just to go back to those full time.

I had a Hogan Special SI sand wedge for so long that I don't exactly remember when I put it into my bag. 1990? 1991? Somewhere around there. It lasted until two years ago when I finally admitted that the grooves were essentially gone.

Up until this year, it was my Scotty Cameron Studio Stainless Newport 2; it was in for approaching 10 years. I put a Scotty Cameron Studio Stainless Newport Beach 1.5 Prototype in play this year, however...it may be remanded to the closet in favor of my old trusty Newport 2, however.

I have an old MacGregor Tourney 7 wood with a wierd double-tapered shaft that I bought in '97 - it still finds it's way in the bag from time to time. I still have my G2 Anser C from the year they were released, and a MP-001 3 wood from the year after they were released.

In the Wilson Exo II:
Driver - 2017 Taylormade M1
3 wood - 2016 Taylormade M1
7 wood - Callaway XR Steelhead Heavenwood
Irons Staff - Wilson C300 Forged 4-GW
Wedges - Cleveland RTX 4 54* / 58*
Putter - Wilson Staff Infinite Windy City

I have a 1993 Merit No-bounce wedge that has been my go to wedge for 18 years. I have two others but they just don't feel the same. This is the magic club I use for all shots within 50 yards.

I was just wondering who has the longest going streak with a single club. I think that club deserves an award for being in a wrxer's bag for the longest. I basically want to find that guy that has had the same bulls eye for 35+ years and still going.

Mine is my putter. Karsten Series Craz-e Went into my bag December 25, 2009.

I think it's mý Ping G5 5-wood, it's been around since 2008. I've become a better player since and the shaft is a bit swampy, but I can turn it both ways and that's good enough.

Come to think of it I also have a Ping My Day bronze putter, It's been in and out of the bag, currently in, and I bought it in the mid 90's.

Hey chopper, what are you hitting there?
Callaway Rouge Sub Zero 9°
TM SLDR S 17° 4-wood
Mizuno MP Fli-Hi 21° driving iron

Dynacraft (?) 24° 4-iron
Titleist AP2 710 5-pw
Wilson FG Tour PMP 52, 56, 60°
Rife 460 Tour Blade

After how long does being "out of form" turn into "a bad golfer"?

I've had my Cleveland Reg 588 Chrome wedges (56*/60*) in my bag since I was my junior or senior year of high school (circa 1998/1999).

My grandfather used to always carry around a silver dollar in his pocket. Over the years, it would get worn completely smooth just from being in there. Eventually it would wear thin enough that the edges would get kind of sharp--at which point he'd replace it with a new one, and repeat the process.

I imagine the face of your 588 looking basically like that silver dollar at this point.

That's awesome, man.

Lol. Nope, the grooves are fine. Those wedges will last a lifetime. I recently tried something different but the Cleveland wedges just feel right. In the old days, and before all of the marketing hype, tour pros would do the same thing... You find what works and stick with it.
