Are you talking about something like this, as especially for those of us in cold weather areas, a long sleeve mock can be a useful layer. i still use a mock as a base layer, but not on it's own.

+1 on being like speedo's though, some people just should not wear them.

I guess I am the fashion "DON"T" but I still wear a mock neck. I have the short sleeve,and long sleeve. I wear them as a base layer when it is cold. I even wear my pro combat shirt,then the short sleeve mock neck over it. Keeps me warm,so I could care less what it looks like.

I gotta admit that I'm with you on this. I have UA, Nike, & Adidas mocks-short & long-sleeved. I think they look ok and I stay warm in the fall/winter. I don't wear the short sleeved ones much in the summer, but I still like them. I'll continue to wear them when it's cooler outside.

Long sleeve mocks under a polo shirt, vest, sweater, jacket or anything else, definitely.

Short sleeve mocks or mocks by themselves, definitely NO!

Don't get me wrong, I love the guy but, see Exhibit A:

Unfortunately, most of the guys that I see wearing short sleeve mocks look exactly like Goydos...please, no more!

Tiger and people of similar physique may be the only ones able to pull off the mock. However, Goydos obviously doesn't give a rat's. To him, it's more comfortable. He also always wears his regular golf shirts buttoned all the way to the top. Interesting, but whatever floats your boat.

Paul Goydos made the statement that he wore the mock because he had no shoulders and a polo slipped around while he played.

That could also be the reason why he buttons them all the way up.

For me I wear them underneath my golf shirt for warmth. Never as a stand alone though.

I wear a short sleeve mock over top of UA compression coldgear, all the time in the winter, then one more layer over top of that if needed. I also will wear a short sleeve mock in cooler spring or fall weather, either by itself or under a light jacket or vest. Don't see a problem with it. Once it gets warmer though, I am all about short sleeve polo shirts only. I will comment that short sleeve mocks are extremely hard to find these days. After reading most of the comments in this thread, now I know why!

I couldn't possibly care less what other people think about my fashion sense. If I could find the short sleeve mocks, I'd by them and wear them on a regular basis. I still have 3, and wear them regularly. If someone else has a problem with it, that is their problem. I don't choose my attire based on whether or not others will like it. If I like it, that is enough for me.
