I got the s3 pro combos and cant see myself giving them up. They are the best irons i have every played!!! Distance is great, feel is soooo soft, flight is perfect for me.

Great job with the pics Richard! I'm loving the looks of them. Yes they do remind me of AP2's but AP2's reminded me of Tourstage stuff made before the AP2's too so

As for the orange..they'll match my Orange puma bag perfectly. I can't wait to get a set!

After seeing this set though, I do question what's next from Cobra. The Amp Forged in my opinion is a huge departure from my current S3 combo set I'm playing. With the Fowler Proto blades seen, it makes me wonder if there will be another line to be released soon which would include blades and a more players cavity back.

I hope that the new forged pro amp line comes out soon. Until then I will play the amp forged. I hope they price these right!

I hit the AMP cast irons at the product release today. They felt excellent, a good marriage of 17-4 and 431 stainless in one head. The orange Lamkin 3Gen grips are superb. Well done to Cobra. The cast Amps are $749 here in Canada, if I remember correctly.

the AMP forged would be a gorgeous club if you removed the orange cavity and replaced it with something the color of......well, anything except orange

Wow... possibly the tackiest looking forged irons ever? I am amazed that Cobra are gambling so much on Rickie Fowler when he's still an unproven talent. I hope he doesn't decide to stop wearing orange next month.

 

That said, you won't see the cavity at address, and if they work it doesn't really matter that they'll look hideous in the bag.

I think that is the standard amp I think the forged has a different shaft and is probably 799 or 899

I play the s2 forged with the super jacked lofts and I use the 49 degree gap wedge that came with the set. This is the best set of irons for me! The distances are not much different than say an ap2 or mp53 maybe 2 to 3 yards per club. Before these i played mizuno mx200 and ping i15 and distances are the same as those sets. I hit all of those 7 irons 160. I believe it is due to the high launching characteristics of the club design if they had standard lofts they would balloon and be 10 yards shorter than everything
else. So don't be afraid of the lofts just play the set and be happy. Btw the gap wedge is awesome and blends great with a 56 and 60 vokey. If these amp forged are better than the s2 forged they must be something special.

the website only has info for the amp forged 7 iron which is 33*, not 31 like the regular amp
