When Don White did his magic for MacGregor I played the 1025cm VIP's for years. Now I play a set of his design from '08 ,the Mac MT forged. Glad to see him with Scratch. What a good fit.

Wow, those etched irons are absolutely amazing. i really dig the old school names. And I think the etched desing gives them a great look. Almost like an old antique pistol. The finish is equally amazing. It almost looks like it has a clear coat over it. But my favorite is the S that almost looks as if it was burned into the back of the clubhead. They are beautiful, but I doubt I could hit those things. Those are some serious blades. Absolutely 0 offset. I would love to try though. Someday I'll be able to afford a custom set like these. Beautiful.

I was thinking of going all raw on my three wedges on order, but that blue oxide looks so good. I'm now thinking I'll order the blue oxide and when it wears away I could probably just strip off the remaining for the original raw look I was going to go with.. is that possible or not suggested?

What is DW's scalloped wedge grind all about?

I have 2 sets of DW custom irons and they are the best looking best performing clubs i have ever had. Nice to see the Aerotech Steelfiber shafts getting some love. I put the Aerotech 125cw''s in both sets. DW is a true artist and his work is second to none. I"m glad to see Scratch, Ari and the team getting a lot of good pub. they deserve it.

The finish on my engraved irons is a Raw finish that we pre-patina'd a little bit. The glossy look is from the oil I put on them to try to prevent them from rusting too bad during the show.

That is a matte black oxide. It looks even better in person. We could also do a similar looking finish but with PVD instead of Black Oxide so it would be a lot more durable.

The head covers are made for us by a company called Seamus Golf. They are really neat and we can get them made in many different fabrics and patterns.

You could definitely do that with the Blue Oxide.

That is a grind that DW does for himself that limits turf interaction and helps prevent the club from digging. It is somewhere between the DOG grind and the XDG grind.

Yes I will be playing with them. I considered putting them on my wall for just a second but IMO these are meant to be played.
If you oil them often with a product called EEZ-OX they will not really rust. You can also remove any rust with steel wool.

I had the pleasure of speaking with Mr. White for good part of an hour on Friday morning at the show. What a treat! He dug into his bag and let me check out his Damascus putter. I would describe it as a Napa-esque-fatboy. Amazing piece of art.

I was blown away by the iron sets in the Scratch booth. The engraved iron set is 100x times impressive in hand.

Great stuff from Scratch. I love their wedges, and now considering a set of irons after talking to Mr. White and seeing them in hand.
