Does anyone still game Ping Eye 2's?

These clubs are not gi or sgi irons. They should have their own category as super game changer irons! Not the longest hitters but consistency and ease to hit is amazing. They're a little tougher than my forged Nike blades but accuracy is dynamite. From the first swing at a ball the confidence goes through the roof.

I've had 3 or 4 sets over the last 20 years. Played one set of them from 14/15 until I was 33 or so. Got bad itch to try something else. Great irons but not long by today's standards. Eye 2+ are better in that regards. Went back to a set or two but just wanted something else.

Great clubs but 15+ years of playing them, I am done.

I've got a set of copper eye2s, and some 716 ap2s. The ap2's are rocket launchers, but not in a good way. As in hitting a pw 150 yards easy kind of way. This leaves a gigantic gap in my spacing. Golf is just so much harder with the ap2's compared to the eye2s. I actually appreciate the weaker lofts and it makes a lot more sense to me. It takes away a couple yardages that I don't have to worry about, just swing the club

I have a set of Ping Eye 2 irons, 1-SW, and the folks most interested in them are below 30 years old. Some are my age (60+), but young folks seriously desire to own and play these clubs. I've sold individual irons and many other sets--Wilson, MacGregor, and Ping--and the audience is young for the sets, older for the indie clubs.

Something else that is huge are Vintage Big Bertha drivers and 3-woods. Apparently they did something right, because I have sold these easily, as well as just the heads!

I have a number of Ping and Ping Eye2 woods that I have not yet tested the market with . We'll see.

Anyone ever use lead tape on the becu's? To increase the swing weight.

I only have stainless Eye2+, not BeCu, and have lead taped them to D4 or so. I don't see why it would be any different for BeCu over stainless...

Question...how can I get a ping cushin insert into a zz lite shaft? Please someone help lol.

You'll have to pull the shaft as the insert goes in the tip. Ping heads aren't easy to pull either. Good epoxy with beads on those mothers.

I thought they went in the grip end? I don't even know how to get any other than cut out of old cushin shafts. Ping won't sell them to me.

When you see them (the inserts) they are nothing much. You can get the same type of feel by putting an inch of hardwood dowel in the tip end of the shaft.

Ping does not sell Cushin inserts and I do not believe you can remove them from another set of shafts and reinstall them in your clubs. Some people have other solutions (wooden dowel in the tip, ProSoft inserts, etc.) that might perform similarly to Ping Cushin shafts. However, if you want Cushin, you either need to find a used set that already has them, find a set of Cushin shafts and reshaft, or send them back to Ping for new shafts.

Also, I do not think the ZZ-Lite has a Cushin option. The closest is the ZZ-65 with Cushin.

A good man named Ron Oneal who does nothing but refinish old PING irons did the work. In addition to the refinish, he put in DG AMTs with sensicore, shaft extensions, Utx grips with a built up lower hand and swing weighted them out to around D0-D2. The grooves look brand new! I played with them yesterday and am very happy. The midsized grip took my hook out of play and the head just seems to go straight. What was old is new again.

Man, the one frustrating thing about the becus is they can't be bent. I have a gorgeous set of becu white dots, 3 degrees up. We'll I fixed some swing flaws over the years and now I'm standard. So now I need black dots. "Shakes head"

Send an email to Ping, they can probably fix the lie angle for you. Its not free of course, but they will even fill in the eye with the appropriate color.

Walter: Tell me Bobby, why do you play this game?
Bobby: I play because I love it.
Walter: Well I play for the money. I have to win. That is why every time we face each other I will always beat you.

Ping will change the lie angle, but you have to sign a waiver due to the age of the clubs and the difficulty of bending BeCu. If they break, you are SOL because they do not have any replacement heads.

Ping won't touch the BeCu or BeNi clubs any longer. If you hit the link posted earlier you'll see they're listed with n/a on how much they can be adjusted.

    • Sony Open Pics from January 11, 2022 Part 1
I was able to get out to the Sony Open today to take a few pics.  I guess due to Covid precautions they kept the spectators pretty far from the players.  Also due to camera restrictions they've put in place, I wasn't able to bring the big lens like I normally do. Hopefully they'll ease up on the ropes and I'll be able to get more pics tomorrow!
