I actually have had my Frees (non golf version) for over a year and find them to be the most uncomfortable trainer type shoe I've ever worn. Very little support and cushioning and after walking 2 miles or so my feet are killing me.
That would follow as, as least in the framework of running, Free is designed to strengthen your feet. You feet hurt because it was a workout for your feet; using muscles you don't normally engage. Free shoes are available in numbers like 7.0, 5.0 and 3.0 with each lower number being closer to the actual barefoot experience (less help/support from the shoe). You're supposed to start at the higher end and work down as you get stronger.

If you go out and buy some 5's or 3's after wearing nothing but traditional trainers, your feet are gonna hurt. Just like if you go do 200 sit-ups after not having done them in awhile, your stomach will hurt.

WOW, they're ugly with almost no technology/design going on other than the sole. PASS.

ACTUALLY- compared to early photos of Tiger's shoes- those look FAKE. Is the OP in China?
WTF, do you know me? FAKE????? Why would I take the time out of my busy schedule to show others pre-released picts of some shoes that they may or may not be interested in? I didn't post them in the BST area. Go to another site if you want to cause controversy, or you need attention. Anyway to those that would buy into his lame comment, they came straight from Beaverton, Oregon (Nike headquarters). I believe I was told they'll sell for somewhere around 159.00 in the stores when they do come to retail.

My 2021 WTB:
Driver - Taylormade Sim Max 9* Tensei White
Fairway Wood - Tour Edge EXS Pro 13.5* Tensei Blue

Wedges - Titleist Vokey SM8, w/ TT tour issued X100 120's
Putter - Mizuno M-Craft 2 Black Series

Balls - Mostly Taylormade Lethal, or TP5, and sometimes Titleist AVS

I'm all in for these! Sign me up!

I will say there have been so many prototypes there are a lot of variations of this shoe floating around. Or I guess I should clarify as pics of different variations of this shoe.

If you notice the ones that Tiger first wore had a black (on the white shoes) toe cap of some sort.

Also, on the ones coming to retail in the thread starters pics have a white fabric stripe on the back, or it may be grey with the TW logo on it. The ones Tiger wears has a black strip on the back.

Also you can see on the retail ones there is a black sole close to the toe on the bottom of the shoe. The ones Tiger wears has an all white sole in that same spot.

Just some differences I have noticed with all the pics on the web of these.

Either way, I want a pair!
Thanks for these pics too!

I just spoke with a buddy that just got done molesting these in the flesh. He said that they are a waterproof design and of typical Nike construction. What I found to be very interesting is the weight. He said they are not light like you would have assumed. They are close to Lunar Controls from what I have been told. I think that is pretty awesome that they have a little heft to them. I have a pair of Air Rates and they are very very light which is nice but glad I can sink myself down in the sand and "POP" one outta the bunkers!

If you have any questions I will do me best to get them answered.

Im on the list for both the all black and the all white!

Agree. Nike Frees are the best shoes I've ever worn for the gym or any other activity that requires a lot of walking. Love the flexibility, allowing the foot to move naturally. Can't wait to get the golf Frees.

The haters in here can hate all they want, but until you've worn a pair of Nike Free shoes you don't know what comfort is. They are unreal. The question becomes will golfers sacrifice looks of a traditional stiff leather shoe for comfort and playability.

It amazes me how many people blame Nike for the design and look of these, when in reality they were designed by Tiger for what he likes and its obvious that comfort took priority over look.
If your definition of "design" is saying "hey, I really like your Frees, can you make a version I can use on the course" then I suppose you would be able to say he did.

But it really involves a little more than that.

I wonder if you can take the spikes out and have it as a running shoe. Looks comfortable to run in.
Ummm, they already have a number of different Free running shoes. Buy those.

For those that say that the Free's aren't comfy and hurt your feet, give them a bit more time. You are using some different muscles with soles like the Free and FitSoles vs a normal "arch" supported shoe. It took me a few runs to get used to them, but now I love them to run in. I also have the Free TR2 and they are a nice comfy shoe to walk around in.

Pretty hard to molest something that isn't even made yet other than a few samples for salesman or testing. Is your buddy a tester? BTW, they aren't like the Lunar Controls. Not even close to look, feel or in weight of the Lunar's. However, yes, they do have a waterproof upper.

I was at the Kansas City Golf Show and the Nike rep said that these were the PROTOTYPES of the Nike Frees. He said that they will actually be made of real leather rather than plastic leather and they will be released in about 6 months from now, so they will be out around August.
Nike said on video at the show that they will be released in June

I want to buy them so bad ... Just wish Nike would take the tw logo off of them
As much as you don't want his name on the shoe....tiger built Nike golf from the ground up.....he IS Nike golf! Deal with it!
He didn't actually BUILD it, but he did give it creditbility and helped go a long way to attract the talent there. :D

And what difference does it make if his logo is on the shoe? His logos are on the other Nike shoes he's worn. It's like the Jordan or Jeter logos on their sponsored stuff. It's just a shoe!
