Brand New Tour Issue RBZ

Recommended Posts

Rocketbladz....not Rocketballz
Saw this today. Also something on Golf Digest. Apparently TM teamed up with Reebok/CCM to make a brand RBZ (Rocketbladz) hockey stick. Apparently they use RBZ technology and completly redesign the structure of a hockey stick. Whats interersting is that they are teaming with Reebok, Addidas competitor. Granted Addidas doesn't make hockey gear, but still. Interesting.

That is correct. Addidas bought Reebok a couple of years ago.

Really? I had no idea. I wonder what the difference between the pro model and the retail will be. Also wonder the price point. Sometimes I get my sticks from my hook-up with the local AHL team, but if I can't I refuse to pay more than $130 bucks for a stick. Eastons now go for like $225. I can see this at the $250 or $275 price point which is insane for a stick that can break 1st time out.

CCM and TaylorMade Collaborate to Launch the RBZ Hockey Stick
MONTREAL--(BUSINESS WIRE)--A leader in hockey equipment and a leader in golf equipment today announced a long-term, multi-year collaboration aimed at redefining the hockey category with game-changing equipment.
"TaylorMade is a clear leader in product innovation in sporting goods and we are very excited to collaborate with them to bring some of their leading technologies to the most legendary hockey company in the industry."
Montreal, PQ-based CCM is working with Carlsbad, CA-based TaylorMade to establish CCM as the leader in hockey product innovation. The collaboration between the two brands will be focused on bringing industry-leading TaylorMade performance technologies to CCM hockey sticks, demonstrating CCM's commitment to technology, research and development.

"Our relationship with TaylorMade will be a game-changer for CCM," said Philippe Dubé, General Manager of Reebok-CCM Hockey. "TaylorMade is a clear leader in product innovation in sporting goods and we are very excited to collaborate with them to bring some of their leading technologies to the most legendary hockey company in the industry."

The first product to be unveiled as a result of this relationship is the CCM RBZ hockey stick. This brand new stick developed in collaboration with TaylorMade composite engineers features a revolutionary blade technology. NHL Rookie of the Month Gabriel Landeskog of the Colorado Avalanche has been using a limited edition version of the stick in all-white since early March. He and fellow National Hockey League rookie sensation Ryan Nugent-Hopkins of the Edmonton Oilers will be using the stick for the remainder of the season.

"Reebok-CCM and TaylorMade share the same passion for delivering high performing equipment played by the most demanding athletes using technical and innovative approaches," said Benoit Vincent, Chief Technology Officer, TaylorMade.

The CCM RBZ stick and all of its technologies will be officially introduced on June 22, 2012 at the NHL Entry Draft in Pittsburgh with the retail launch to follow later in the year.

As part of its commitment to produce the most innovative and technologically advanced gear on the market, CCM currently has existing relationships with the University of Ottawa's Neurotrauma Impact Testing Facility, Montreal Politechnique and several other renowned institutions to give hockey players the best head-to-toe experience.

I am very interested in this. As someone who played hockey through college and replaced my hockey equipment addiction with a golf equipment addiction. Sticks now are so freaking light and make it so easy to shoot hard. My buddy is a goalie and hates all these new sticks. Pucks just come so fast. Like being a pitcher in college with all those balls flying off the metal bats. Also love the pic of Landeskog.....GO AVS!!!! Like I mentioned earlier wanna see the price point on these. Hockey sticks might be the only thing more over priced that golf clubs......

Also do I get a guranteed 17 MPH added to my shot?:good:

CCM hockey sticks are pretty bad IMO. Their one pieces hockey sticks are like matcstick, they break all the time. I don't like neither their paterns (except that CrazyOvie one who's insane!)

But this one is so sharp, gotta try it.

Warrior hockey is the best if you want hockey stick.

I'm wondering what technology TM would bring to these hockey stick. In golf I thought it was mainly the shaft that does the whole work in the golf swing.

The old orange vector was a hell of a stick but the ones from the last few years have been terrible.

For those who don't play hockey, their recent offerings for me have been the equivalent of a Grafalloy Blue X tipped 2 inches.

This is too much for me to comprehend! Am I now going to be subjected to "10 MPH FASTER" every year?

I was a big fan of the RBK patterns but their durability always sucked. Been using Warrior for a few years now. Is this Taylormade thing just the blade or did they do the whole stick? Still confused here.

And sick Landeskog pic, though I am pretty sure that one ended in a 5-1 stomping at the hands of my Penguins!

I'm an Easton guy myself....always have been. But yeah CCM suck. In fact their biggest user, Ovie, just switched to Bauer. Why? Because they kept breaking. No matter what they did to them, they couldn't keep them from breaking. He went thru moire sticks than anyone. Interested to see if that improved.

Yeah Bauer is the sh*t whenever it comes to equipment and hockey gear. They keep selling good hockey products for years. Remember Bauer/Cooper ? That was sick ! I will always remember a young Pavel Bure ou Saku Koivu in Cooper gear heheh ! Good old time !

The problem with CCM is they never had good hockey sticks (except the first Vector V110, the blue one). But I think their downfall was when they left the Tacks series(Better skates in the industry IMO with the old Bauer Supreme) for the Externo series then Vector... now the U+ are so ugly !

I'm working in a sports good company and their so bad. One of them broke because I mold one in the skate oven (don't know the good term in english ..). It melts in front of the customer, lol.

Since then, I'm sold to Graf ! Yep, their skates are pretty soft but since I play Beer league in college, I'm not used anymore to have 4 practices a week and 2 games on weekend so it's perfect.

I am not buying into the 10 MPh faster. but i will give the RBZ a try in the fall, unless I can get my hands on one for summer league.
