using stand bag with pull cart?

hi, dumb question here on my part, but im going with a group of players that always wants to walk with their pull/push carts and i only have a stand bag. my question is that would a stand bag fit in a pull/push cart and would it look funny? thanks in advance

My stand bag will work with my pull cart, but not very easily. I have to turn my stand bag on its side and then pray that I can get it strapped on. One thing to consider though is that I have a crappy old school pull cart, not one of these newer high tech models.

They'll work just fine. I have an Ogio Flight and a Bagboy Express and they wrok well together. Just put the legs in the adjustable "cradles" of the cart and strap it down.

I played 1 round ni Spain with Ogio Grom on a rented pull cart. IT looked funny laying on its side but it worked fine. That was one seriously hilly course too, no problems at all (Even without any straps to hold the bag on the cart).

It'll work out fine for sure but im wondering why you don't just carry your stand bag as you normally would? Just because these guys use pull carts doesn't mean you need to does it? Maybe i'm confused here...

Because we're not all studs like you! ;) Seriously, I have an Ogio Flight with the Schling and it's not as bad on the shoulders/back as the two strap system that 99% of the bags use today. But compared to my BagBoy Express LE, it's a no brainer.

 

Let's see here: A cart that I can push with two fingers (seriously!), or a 20 pound bag that, no matter how comfortable the strap system is, I have to carry! You do the math.

exactly what simp says, i once tried to carry my through 18 holes and i gave up and went home after about 8 or 9, i have an ogio edge and its pretty comfortable but i just couldnt do it, iguess im badly out of shape

I have a comfortable Ogio (Vision, I think) but I am a bit of a pack rat so I use a cart ($50 Bag Boy). The only problem I have is that the cart is almost too long for the bag. To make it fit a bit better I have a funiture coaster (about 3/4" thick) on the bottom of the bag to boost it up. So overall it works fine.

I have hoofer and a cliqgear. I like having the stand bag for when I'm practicing and just moving spot to spot so I don't have to worry about getting the cart out of the car. I have the cliqgear because I have a bad back and can't carry for 18 holes without having sharp pain the next day. Would suggest going with a 14 way stand bag so when it does move around on the push cart all the clubs are still seperated.

yes it will work. But why not still just carry your bag if that what you like to do. I can see riding in cart if everyone else is riding, but no need to push a cart because everyone else is.

I use a pull cart with a stand bag and never had an issue as the bag has straps to prevent leg deployment. This was on the both bags I've owned but Ive heard some bags don't have anything. I had no idea what they were for for a very long time. Only issue is the bag stands about an inch short for the top strap to wrap around the top of the bag perfectly. It still works fine but it taket about 3 minutes to setup when I get out of the car.

The type of stand bag is going to matter in this. If the stand mechanism has a foot that extends out from the bottom of the bag, such as most Sun Mt. carry bags, then it isn't going to stay "centered" on a push cart; it's going to fall to one side or the other. If it's a bag that has the stand mechanism integrated into the base of the bag, that won't be as much of a problem. But I went thru this exact scenario with a Titleist carry bag that I just loved and it drove me nuts when I used my push cart.

You have several really good options if you are going to use a stand bag with a push cart. If you want to use a true carry bag, ClicGear sells an accessory that I think will attach to most push carts that keeps the legs of the stand bag in place and prevents it from falling to the side. If you are NEVER going to carry, but still want a stand on your bag from the range or the parking lot, then there are now a lot of "hybrid" bags that are in between carry and cart bags in size, but have a stand. The best of the hybrid bags is probably the Sun Mt. C130s bag, but there are a lot of others as well. The third option, of course, is to have a carry bag and a cart bag and switch your stuff back and forth between the two according to what you are going to do. That sounds bad, but if you keep stuff like tees, ball markers, balls, and gloves in both bags, then you just switch out your clubs and go.

My wife and I both have stand bags and they work fine with our Clicgear 3-wheelers.

I use a Ping Hoofer with a Clicgear 3.0. Works just fine for me, and I like having the stand bag for when I’m practicing.

It will work just fine. On some, the base of the bag might seem a little small but it is never a problem, go for it.
