My Problems with GPPGOLF.com

Their Black Friday sale was AWESOME. Even with their shipping - it was still awesome.

I've bought 5 different orders from them, never had a single issue that wasn't quickly resolved with a call or email to CS.

They tried to sell me a obviously demo club as "new" .
It took 5 calls and a complaint from paypal to get them to refund my money.
One of many stories.

It's great that they are a sponsor but I would hope people
would hold them to the same standard as other companies they buy from.
People just want descent customer service and to get what they pay for.

I buy from Amazon and when "things happen" on occasion they get resolved quickly.
If you care about your customers, resolving the occasional problem is quite simple.

RANT ALERT

Subject, "Never buy from GPPgolf.com" --- seriously Kevin?

FYI, for all those reading this post --- Yesterday morning, Kevin (KCMH), chatted our Customer Service Dept. and relayed to our Customer Service Manager, John St. John a heads up on our very sudden glitch (which we've yet to experience). John immediately offered a solution to take Kevin's order over the phone and get him that great deal -- he responded saying that the issue was too upsetting and he'll take his order elsewhere. The shopping cart glitch was immediately resolved.

This type of town crying to announce to your fellow WRX members only to pique concern without adding much context to the situation, I find is becoming unreasonable and uncalled for. We run contests, post deals, collab with GolfWRX founders on giving away iron sets several times a year, and most importantly, respond to concerns and PMs better and more frequently than any other sponsor on this forum.

We offer great deals on 100% Authentic gear and we know our shipping costs are a few bucks more than our competitors. But If our shipping costs are really turning you away from saving sometimes hundreds or in this case, over $70 are and we're only a few bucks more than our competitors then that deal will just be sold to a more savvy shopper.
Maybe we really need to just raise our prices, have you spend more on the same product, but just have you save on shipping. Thoughts? As a knowledgable online shopper with heightened deal acumen, I tend to take the entire shopping cart total $ into the equation -- $16 shipping on some shorts is pretty expensive right? But not when I'm saving 50% ($60) on a couple pairs of shorts that I would not be able to find for that deep of a discount anywhere.

There is a personal touch to everything shipment that goes out: it is picked/pulled, boxes are constructed by hand, and is all hand packaged -- not by robots nor sitting in some slick 100,000 sq. ft. warehouse -- but by employees who are compensated well to ensure a nice well being for themself and their family. That's what the term 'handling' refers to. So at the end of the day, it's not really JUST the cost we have for shipping your shorts across the country in a reasonable time, with high gas prices, but it's buying into the overall savings of the deal you're receiving and helping to keep jobs here at GPP, all so you can speak to someone personally over the phone, chat us, etc (not a lengthly and annoying recorded message or voicemail) and ultimately to ensure that your experience with us was a good one and will keep you coming back.

Things happen, sometimes human sometimes in this case, a glitch that was resolved in a very timely fashion and one that was offered to simply take that same order over the phone. I really hope that trolling these boards, hiding behind a nondescript avatar and handle, and throw mud at GPPgolf.com or any of our other friends, retailers, vendors, sponsors, other WRX members, etc. can stop, well before pressing the send/post button. There we can all have REAL conversation with context and solution. We are all passionate and geek out about something, for us it's golf -- it's a game, it's fun and should be enjoyed, it shouldn't be malicious, self-serving, nor thoughtless. Mellow out, relax and have fun this weekend.

Thanks for the response Brandon, good to hear both sides. To those who say they are "never buying from (insert retailer here) again" because one order that you or someone on the board placed had some challenges - are you only going to buy from places who have never had a single negative comment? Good luck finding one...

I'll admit that outside of a few purchases on the BST i don't do much online purchasing, but these threads are ridiculous. Companies are run by people, who use automated systems to keep costs down and pass savings along (among other reasons). Mistakes happen. That's life. No one on this board has lived a life completely free of error. How about a little bit of understanding? It's all about finding the retailer that will do what they need to correct a mistake when it happens. If you don't like that "uncertainty", buy from a local store and pay current retail prices.

Or were you (OP) hoping to get the entire order comped by being the squeaky wheel?

Was Kevin wrong for the post....probably not. If it wasn't him I am sure it would have been someone else. I have no problem with your response. With that said, there are a lot of threads on this site having to do with the same complaints about GPPgolf. I know people make mistakes, trust me I have made plenty and they are forgivable no question. If your response is true about the shipping prices, I can accept it and move on from the ongoing issue, but maybe it should be re constructed to a flat rate for everyone. The guy 40 miles from you should not be paying the same as me in NJ for 2 dozen balls, that could be frustrating. But it is what it is.

You guys have missed that this is all about not being able to buy a "travis mathew suspended polo".

The OP should be extremely happy that he had issues and ended up not adding the beautiful shirt to his wardrobe,

Ive ordered from them and had only one problem. Eventually it was resolved, though it took some effort. Id still buy from them again since it did eventually get fixed.

This thread is just ridiculous though.

I would think contacting customer service would be in order instead of saying never buy from them. Crap happens. It's what they do about it.

+ 10 MILLION

I seriously doubt the company is deliberately mispricing items or miscalculating totals online in order to screw thier customers, that'd be a helluva business model! Seems like the first order of business nowadays is to run to the internet and try to drag a company's name through the mud...kinda silly if you ask me...give them a chance to make it right, probably some kind of glitch is all.

I have given them a call before posting here. They had me send a screen shot in, which I did all I got back was clear my cache and reopen my browser.

And what happened when you did ? Or were you too upset to do it ?

The problem is alot of people expect shipping to be free or almost next to nothing. Why should the business pay for the shipping?
They shouldn't.

That's not it, they want it to be comparable to every other box store out there. I bet if they went flat rate, they would see a difference in complaints. Search the threads, no one complains about TGW,Golfsmith, or Golf Galaxy. just my .02

No one complains about Golfsmith's shipping charges because they never actually ship anything.....they just cancel your order without telling you.
