PGA SUPERSTORE NEW POLICY ON DEMO CLUBS

Starting tomorrow PGA Superstore will no longer loan out clubs for free. (Driver license and credit card number to hold until you return item)

You are now required to be a Player Club Member for 99.00. Bummer really like the old policy, oh well now have to pony up the money to take out.

LOL, so hold on a second, they would let you take out demo clubs without a credit card? I could understand if you came in all the time and they knew you really well, but a regular Joe blow off the street, what was their policy?

They just made a copy of your driver license and credit card number and off you went. When you return clubs, they give you the paperwork to discard.

I guess i have to look at the positives, won't be able to take out their I20 demo driver again and have to wait until next week before PING ships mine. Save a round of golf expense this weekend.

Geez, I thought this was always the policy. They always took my license and credit card info down when I demo'ed clubs. Must have not been company wide.

You city boy's still have it way to good!!!
I remember there was a golf shop ( mom&pop) here about 5 years ago, and I bought all my stuff from them....alas...I was unable to keep them afloat on me own.
Regardless you guys still have it pretty good, after all $99 a year ( it is per year right?) isn't bad for that kind of luxury...is it?

That is correct, but I was told there is a cost to be a member. 99 dollars was quoted to me over the phone, was in there last week and had borrow their I20 driver until mine came in.

This was not the case because at the time I had started this thread, I was in there the prior week with their demo driver in hand.

I think what he's saying is that they always required drivers license and credit card. It's just that now they also require a $99 membership to their players club.

I always thought edwin watts demo policy made the most sense. They put a hold on your credit card for the retail amount of the club - when you return it they remove the hold. If you don't return it they put the charge through.

Edwin Watts let me take a demo club out of the store for a few days by leaving a copy of my license and a credit card #.

Yes you are correct, just credit card and driver license number given in the past. I like the Edwin Watts policy, but I guess stores have to find creative ways to make revenue which I don't mind. Just liked the old policy since the club was already hit and I could take it out and test real time.

I will continue to spend my money there regardless of their policy because I really like their services and selection.
