KBS Hi-Rev Wedge Shafts

Earlier this year a forged wedge was made for me, 52.7, with a KBS HI-Rev shaft in it, and I really love the performance and feel of this club. I'm thinking about putting the KBS Hi-Rev in my 56 & 60. My ideal wedge swingweight is D4 - maybe D5. I have noticed that the KBS Hi-Rev feels a good deal lighter than most other wedge shafts.

What do you guys use for wedge shafts? It would be nice to hear from anyone using DG Spinner or Hi-Rev. Thanks.

What flex did you go for in the hi rev and what iron shaft do you play. I have xflex ctapers in my 4-pw and 52* wedge, am about to get 2 new wedges and am interested in the hi revs but am worried about them going too high - I play a links course so need lower launch.

How about the Spinner shafts, well at least for me.

Where are you wanting more spin? The less you swing the club, the less the grooves and shaft will matter. I have no problem stopping a wedge on a 1/2 swing but can't seem to put the brakes on a short chip. I think it's more technique than equiptment. Just a thought.

I have the same problem. I can make the ball stop or spin back slightly from 30, 50, 75, 100 yards but when I'm chipping from the edge it doesn't seem to check up.

I just put Hi Revs in my 52, 56, and 60. So far so good. I have KBS Tours in my irons and I wanted the same feel. Well, they don't disappoint. I have no problems getting the ball to check at any distance other than a bad swing. I love the feel as well. As for hitting them high, well I have to get used to that. The KBS do go higher than s300s BUT the feel and dispersion are hands down better on the KBS shafts. Hope this helps!!!

im not a huge fan of hi-revs in my gap/sand wedge, but i absolutely love mine in my 60.

For me, they don't perform as well as dynamic gold on full swing shots, but where they really shine is on the 3/4 and 1/2 swings. the ballflight is unlike anything else. they dont launch too high, the ball flattens out and is piercing, doesnt balloon, but the ball stops/sucks back when it hits the green. its a thing of beauty.

If you can't make a chip stop then work on the shoot, stiff your wrists and delay release of the club until. your hands are down so you accelerate through the shoot instead of trying to chip, hit down on the boll and try get som light turf. It's all a matter of confidence.

I play the DG spinners in my wedges. All Vokey's 45-50-55-60. I have not tried the Hirev yet. I have noticed a different "feel" in my wedges since changing. I can feel a different kick point and release. It does seem to give more spin, though I have not put them on a monitor yet so I don't have exact numbers.

i will reply soon with my hirev review. just got them in the mail. I game ctaper x 3 through pw on adams mb2. Looking for a piercing ball flight with great half shot spin control. cant add much about around the green...cause like most have discussed that shot is not in my bag i usually play chip and runs. However i will be hoping for lower shot dispersion than my old dg tour that i have on spin milled. the hi rev shafts are going onto tvd wedges by the way

Sort of went this route also. Put the hi-rev x-stiff in my 58 degree, but kept the same shaft in my 52 degree wedge as I play in my irons. With the hi-rev shaft its been point and shoot.

the high revs can absolutely stop on short chips but they can also run out, its all in the contact. my guess is that its the same with all shafts on short chips. one day through the first few holes my chips were running out further than i would assume they would, next hole i played for the run out and the ball stopped 6 inches from where it landed and i was left with a 15 footer. the hi revs felt awsome from short chips all the way through to full swings. they are a shaft thats feels great to me and works well for me.

same here, I put the 125 gram stiffs in all 3 of my wedges hoping for a little extra spin, cant tell a difference, but they are worth it on feel alone.

What's the difference between regular KBS Tours in wedges and KBS HiRev wedge shafts?

i have hi rev shafts on all my wedges and there was definitely increased spin from all shots. my short chips check a bit harder now (never had a problem checking them). the only problem is on full swings, they tend to spin a bit too much. it's okay though i don't really full swing with my wedges and it does help a ton with hitting shots from various distances, close knowing the ball will stop.

my best friend has DG spinners and they feel about the same weight but definitely a different kickpoint than the KBS hi revs. i can "feel" the wedge clubhead whipping a bit more with his shafts than mine. both are great though... don't think you can go wrong with either.

Also depends on what golf ball your playing.
