Why is almost everyone drooling over this driver? You can only see the sole.
Because it has appeased the hivemind asking for an adjustable from PING. Don't tell that to all the i20 and G20 owners though, they're too busy hitting fairways and not changing loft and face angle on the range :pimp:

I don't think it's the loft changing people care about. It's the ease of switching shafts... That's what I care about anyways...

Because that is the part people see when it is sitting in your bag?

One part of me looks at this like PING included the basic amount of adjustability to be able to advertise it as such. Another part says if people bought the right head (with maybe a hand pick loft/lie/FA) only a little bit of adjustment would be needed anyway. The PING heads are so forgiving anyway...how much more do you really need?

This. Was very nice to be able to just quick-swap shafts for my F12LS, even if i don't change the settings.

Love ping equipment but it seems silly to have the old school open closed neutral settings . If u close the face setting u increase the loft and so on I hate that !!

Those wedges would have looked much nicer with the i20 tuning port IMO...unless the grooves are a significant improvement, which they more than likely won'y be, there isn't much to get excited about. I'll wait to see the crown on the driver but my sense is BST will be flooded with them a couple of months after the release.

not sure i like that loft/face angle can't be changed independently, no one 2nd thought I'm am sure I don't like it... If I wast to hit it a little higher I have to get a closed face, or playing a windy links course and i want to keep it low i have to get a open face??? Weak effort at 1st glance IMO

Every single adjustable driver works this way, including TM and Titleist. TM counter to it is ASP, but in order to change loft you have to change face angle. And for those complaining about the half degree incriments it makes sence with ping's philosophy. They take the set t and forget it approach. So if you need a 9 degree you deloft the 9.5 or weaken the 8.5. If you want a 9.5 you get the 9.5. This way the clubs don't overlap and ping has more fitting options.

??? Doesn't the chart below imply i can got from D1 -A1 -D4 -A4 with the Titleist 910 drivers and increase\decrease loft without adding draw or fade bias???

WOW! Never thought I'd see the day when PING released adjustable clubs! This will be a heavy contender vs. the 913 line when it is released.
Dont think it will be. Not near the adjustment of the 910/913 and just going by the sole pic alone doesnt look great. It will have to feel amazing to attract anyone other than Ping Fan boys. Too little too late. Anyone else ready for something thats actually new to come out. I also would be interrested to know why they feel adjustability now works for them after for so long saying it wasnt necessary.

Ping's excuse for making an adjustable head will be that the player now has the flexibility to adjust the head for "Shot shaping" based upon the characteristics of the course.

Some course favor left to right....others are right to left.

Driver looks alright, but there is some misconception on ALL adjustability. If loft changes at impact then face angle will change when the club is soled at address, and if face angle changes at address then loft at impact will change. (dynamic loft that is when the face is square) It is simple geometry.

As for the amount that ping is offering I don't think it is enough unless you have been custom fitted and ordered a digitally lofted driver, as pings tolerances have been shoddy at best. That having been said they could tighten their loft tolerances and make this driver much more relevant.
