I found a used one at Play it Again Sports for $40 and I love it. It's very easy to hit, and it goes very straight. It worked out so well, that I'm replacing my Burner rescue (22*, same loft as the Adams) with a steel shaft to fill the gap between my 5 iron and the Adams Hybrid.

Edit 5/15/09

I used it on the course yesterday, and I'm very pleased with this hybrid. I got within 5 yards of the front of the green from a bad lie on a Par 5. It just went straight. I also used it on a short Par 4, and left my self with pretty short chip for my second shot (which I shanked...lol). I went ahead and ordered a 20* to replace my 5W because of how easy it hits...I might lose a little distance, but I'll make up for it with accuracy.

My rather low mark is more indicative of the suitability of the club for me rather than any criticism of the product. I had this club built with a Graphite Designs Aura Blue Shaft. My cunning plan (or so I thought) was to give me a hybrid that would carry between 195 and 200 yards. Sadly the club is too good for me. At 16 degrees loft I cannot generate enough head speed to either get the shot height that I want or the carry distance I am looking for.

That said the club was a very high quality product. It's a shame that the same could not be said of the golfer swinging it. So, it's back to the drawing board. I am now looking at some 18 degree Adams Insight XTDs. Probably more suited to my 17 handicap.

I bought this club, and was rather disappointed, and perhaps thats because I didn't do my research correctly.

As a hybrid/rescue, I was looking for a club with decent launch, weighted sole, and a little bit more foregiveness (given that its likely to be used out of more difficult lies). As hybrids (due to their weighting), hit out higher, I purchased the higher lofted 2 hybrid 18* to replace my 5-wood.

I found the bent face to really amplify mishits to the extreme. I play forged irons which can be unforgiving but they are not nearly as unforgiving as this hybrid. Any ball hit off centre (i.e. a cm in, or a cm out) I can count on to curl either left or right by 10 yards MINIMUM. (Its easier to control my driver then this club).

Off the tee, this isn't really an issue, but when you've got funny lies, and grass surrounding the balls, pure contact is almost impossible, and thats where this club really lets down.

If you want a workable RESCUE club (i.e. unforgiving), then I'd go with this club. But if you're looking for a club to bring you back onto the fairway, find something else you would actually want to rely on.
I can't believe I waited this long to pick up one of these. The 18* vs proto 80-s is the best hybrid I've ever hit. Reached two par fives in two with ease from 235+ out off super tight lies, dead straight and high. Looking for the 23* now!
That is the set up I have 18* and 23* and it's straight money in the bank!

Unfortunately you do need a wrench. I have seen some on ebay for 20 bucks. Golfsmith charges 50.

Also they only make one torque wrench so if it says it is for the redline driver or something, it's still the same wrench for the hybrids.

Checking E-bay now....thanks...

I have just added the 1H, 3H, and 4H to my bag for this season. Very solid and more anti-left than the other hybrids I have used. With these the 5 wood, 3 and 4 irons are no longer necessary and possibly the 3 wood. Got out for the first time in CT and really depended on this trio a lot today. You see, I had one in the past that I got rid of too soon. Remembering how good it felt, how long it was and how less hooky than others it was and is, I decided to get a whole set this winter. Used them effectively, off the tee, off the deck and around the green once. Elated at the results.

Still loving mine,

3h is still in the bag, and I still use the 1, 2, and 4 models depending upon the course.
