Goodwin Park

Anyone play here recently?

 

Never played here before and a friend of mine wanted to play it this week. I've heard good and bad about it. I'm not expecting an immaculate course, but I at least want to know if it's in good playing condition compared to similar munies in the area (Hunter, Timberlin, Alling, Stanley, etc...).

I haven't played in a while but in my experience it is not at the level of timberlin and hunter. I find timberlin to be in better condition than a lot of non muni publics. I wouldn't expect that type of condition at Goodwin.

Goodwin is literally a park in hartford that has a golf course in it. Never in great shape. Rates can be found for very cheap. Its worth the money to play Timberlin and Hunter. I know the head pro at Timberlin (used to work with/for him). He's a great guy and they put out a great product there.

I used to love Timberlin but the past 3-4 times I played there the round took over 5 hours. They seem to jam to many people on there. I see a lot of positive comments about Timberlin so maybe I just went there at some wrong time and got unlucky being stuck behind some slow players.
