Discussion of course closures and repurposing into parks. I personally wouldn't mind if palo verde was done away with, but turning aguila into a park? Bull dozing maryvale would bring a tear to my eye.

I read all the material provided. I have a lot to say on this topic but will refrain.

I will, however, say that the study was juvenile at best and leads me to believe they have already made their decisions.

The problem w/ the munis is they all have a number of challenges....and they have never tried to understand how to overcome those challenges or come up with creative solutions. They simply thought they could just function the same as other courses and they would be successful.

I don't presume to have the answers, but I think each one of us could comment with some creative ideas and required improvements that may make the courses more successful.

But at this point, the challenges may be far to great to overcome.

I agree Joe, it does seem like they already have their mind made up. As a former city employee(laid off due to budget cuts), I am all too familiar with how they handle budget issues.

Ken McDonald in Tempe should be used as a model. They turned management over to a private group. The course has been improved, and had a ton of people on it this past weekend. I would say, without seeing a financial sheet, that this might be a success.

I heard boogervilla was repurchased by a new managing company that is looking to turn it around.
A friend in Laveen told me that just a coupe days ago, how much "rumor" that is Im not sure.
