I've been out of the office and away from Golfwrx here. We did not have left-handed offerings in the XUtility for the first shipments but are looking at doing the lefties for shipments in 2013.
so thats a definite yes for lefthanders then
I don't think so, Ron.
I think it's a consideration.

Let's not get our hopes up too high.
i think your right cant see it happening
Wait, I'm confused now. I thought that X Utilities in lefty were a done deal? How could they not do them in lefty, their #1 golfer is lefty. So what your saying is I can't get one in December? That sucks!! I have been counting down the days till I can pre-order one. ERRRRR....we get screwed again!!! I have even broke up with my 4 hyrbid last week, anticipating my new love. Now I have to go crawling back on hands and knees and ask for forgiveness?
well they said 2013 so that gives you 12 months to maybe pick one up for yourself, another season could be over by then

OK, lefties, let's not jump off the cliff just yet.

I think what Harry is trying to say here is that a left handed option is being discussed/considered but they can't yet commit to it.
Hence the wording, 'looking at doing the lefties'.

This is how it seems to work for us with new/exotic product.

Don't despair. As the Stones might say, we can't always get what we want, we get what we need.

Harry & Chad,

Can either of you answer whether the new driver will have the double cog adapter that is found on tour & on the Razr Fit Tour Authentic ?
Harry and Chad,

The UT San Diego reported, "As part of the agreement, each company will have specific rights to make golf ball and club products under patents owned by the other".

In addition to BB's question, are you able to elaborate on the settlement between Callaway and Titliest? Needless to say, the RAZR Fit system and the SureFit Hosel are quite similar. Anything else you share?

I was perusing the Callaway website and noticed that the Ctapers are available in some of the player's irons. Will they still be an option in the 2013 line also? Love my Ctapers!

Not sure I can elaborate. Let me get back to you on that one.

And about the double cog: that won't come stock but will be made available elsewhere, either with club fitters or directly from us.

Does the double cog (I don't have any of the new adjustable drivers, the only adjustable one I have is a ZL, and that's simplistic) give the opportunity to change the settings without changing the shaft position? Is that the biggest benefit? Or are there simply more options? Or both?

For example, if you put a ribbed grip on your driver (I've never used a ribbed grip, but it might be something to look into for irons so you know you're always holding it the exact same way, at least in theory) would you be able to always keep that rib on the bottom? Shaft graphics would obviously be another benefit of this.

My understanding of the settlement is simply from reading articles about in magazines, etc., but I believe it was over technology that is essentially out of date now (the suit began years ago). But I agree with you, SureFit & Razr Fit adapters are very similar. I also think the 910/913 heads are similar in a lot of ways.

Harry/Chad, not sure if you guys would be the right people to ask about this but might as well try.

I picked up an MX #7 putter earlier in the season and wanted to have the shaft replaced with the all black shaft that comes with the new Pro-Type Black series. Was told that Callaway/Odyssey will not replace my shaft or allow me to order the new shaft alone.

Any particular reason for this? I dont see why a customer wouldnt be able to pay for a new shaft, regardless of what model it comes stock in?

Welcome aboard. I am a big Callaway fan and play Callaway X-18 irons (5-AW). I have RazrHawk driver, a Callaway hybrid, sand wedge, and Odyssey putter. Your equipment is great and your customer service is even better. A couple of thoughts:
1-All of the OEMs have really ugly badges/cavities in their GI or SGI clubs. I don't think Callaway has made a really nice looking GI or SGI sine the X-20s and 2006 Big Berthas.
2-Likewise, I favor simplicity in bags. How about making carry bags that are one solid color with a nice big white Callaway logo?
3-I love your Metal-X line of putters. Mine has really improved my game.
4-I agree with other posters that simplifying your iron line is a good idea.
Thanks for hearing me out. I look forward to reading more of your posts.

Agree with the above "style/design" comments. Would love to know why? Does market research show that the general public wants all that color and plastic? I realize we here at golfwrx may not represent the general public.

Generally for that kind of iron, golfers want to see the technology. And when the technology isn't as visible or obvious, the cosmetic does more heavy lifting. It can sometimes be a fine line between overly designed and not enough shelf appeal. People who want a lot of technology to deliver performance across a bunch of different dimensions, but who also have a more understated and minimalistic aesthetic, are really a minority, unfortunately.

Hey, that's us!!!!!

And it makes sense. A club could have all the technology in the world to help a player hit the ball better on average, but if they can't "see" it, they probably won't know/think it's there. We will, but as we all have to remember, we're not the masses either. Even though most of us buy more equipment than we should, WRX alone couldn't support the equipment industry even if there was only one OEM :(

Harry and Chad,
Can you guys post the specs for the new '13 X Forged Irons? They look great. I did want to find out what the target golfer was for this line? One of the pictures shows Phil with them in his bag, but that doesn't imply that he will be gaming them next season. To give you an idea I currently play Mizuno MX-300s and could go with one as unforgiving as a Mizuno MP-64 if I found the right feel. Is this product going to be something for me to seriously consider?

Thanks for the input, that is a great looking product and I am happy to see the new direction that Callaway is starting to take. Keep it up!

They said earlier that the focus golfer was 10 handicap & under, I think. It's in an earlier post in one of the 2 Callaway threads

Harry and Chad-

It's a pleasure having you both on this forum!

Can either of you elaborate on the new X Forged iron (looks fabulous by the way) vs. the Mizuno MP64 iron in terms of forgiveness? Understanding of course that these irons are both in the "players" category so the difference may be marginal. Thanks in advance and keep up the fantastic work!!!!

Gents,

Since the arrival of the new Forged iron pics depicting what might be the nicest iron offering from Cally since 2009, you have a huge fan here. These are a "must have" for my bag.

So much so, I've told the wife that her breast augmentation surgery will just have to wait.

That said, I have to know this - before I turn down some 34FF's :pimp: - are the new Forged available with the entire Nippon shaft lineup? More specifically, the 1050GH?

I appreciate your time and hope you can appreciate my predicament.

I'm going to answer a few of the above posts in this one, so bare with me.

First and foremost, R35, I am a big fan of the book "Crucial Conversations" which talks about the concept of the "fool's dilemma," in which a person erroneously and quite myopically believes he/she has to choose between only two options. But most people actually are not expanding the possibilities and seeking a creative solution to their problem that does not have a binary solution set. In other words, buy the clubs and the boobs!

I digress...the shaft options for this are within our existing shaft offerings so if we offer it currently, you can get it with these. If not, let us know and we can add it in.

These irons are incredibly forgiving, soft, and feel incredible. I believe most everyone who isn't used to or desiring a springy faced iron will find these irons extremely easy to hit and impressed with how forgiving these are. People say that about our muscle back and they will find it to be the case for these as well. They are specifically designed for players 10 index or less simply because of the offset package. But for higher handicappers who like forged irons and the look of these and don't mind minimal offset, these will be money.

Mmmm...I just saw the photos of the '13 X Forged Irons. I was planning on purchasing the RAZR X MB's in the Spring, but after reading/seeing these irons I may have changed my mind. That said, I was wondering if the '13 X Forged Irons would come with the AeroTech SteelFiber shafts as an option?

Thanks for your time.

Harry, I was shown the new seasons offerings from Callaway yesterday down here in New Zealand and signed my life away before hand (you know what I mean)
I was very pleased with the release. Heres hoping to good initial sales, good sell through and most/least importantly (depending on who you are) the clubs I will order for my bag will get me back out there mixing it up in the Pro Ams we have!
