I am going to wait and take a look at them. Pictures are never really enough for me. They look similar to the Ap2's, which is intriguing, and as I am not a believer in backing one company (Seriously, we aren't getting paid to use them so why should we? Look a Senedeker...His bag has just about everything in it) We should use whatever makes us better. So that's why I am thinking of waiting to see if they make me better. If they don't or I don't like how they feel then that will be that, end of story. If I like them and I hit the ball well, then maybe I will have to buy them. Either way, we have to wait.

I am also intrigued to see if any TM pros will be sporting these in the Fall PGA season and at the beginning of next season. I think the Tour model could possibly be more appealing to the pros, unlike the RocketBallz, which no pro uses. O'hair has already tested them out in a tourny (Anyone know how he did?)

Sadly, only time will tell.

I've got some Wilson reflex irons in the garage. I might give them a clean and get them out for a round seeing as they are packed with brand new technology!!!

They are actually designed differently than the Reflex! Take another look.

Your Nike irons do not have the Inverted Cone, which is what was in the Burner 2.0 and is now enhanced in the RBladez............

"Both versions of RocketBladez are made of maraging stainless steel and employ TaylorMade's improved Inverted Cone Technology, which the company says delivers two critical benefits:

It increases the size of the clubface area that delivers high ball speed.

It influences how the face flexes and rebounds at impact to control the angle at which the ball leaves the face, promoting straighter shots and a tighter dispersion."
These will probably sell like hotcakes because the average joe golfer only wants to hit it longer.
However no good golfer will play these because those people know that irons are all about consistency, control and accuracy.
That pocket will make the irons more inconsistant and hard to control distances from shot to shot.
Plus they are ugly as could be.

did you not listen to anything in the video? the tour players wanted them because they were consistently accurate and they could control it. wow missed that did you?

Very disapointed. How can you tell me the 6 iron's loft is 26.5* with a straight face? Of course its going to go further! My 5 iron is 28 degrees and is a true "blade". I guess hybrid irons can now be considered "blades". Shaking my head.
launch window, get over the lofts already

its a higher loft to bring down the ball flight because its just as high if not higher then all the other irons out there.

Yeah tell me about it, every bloody thread on WRX lately about new irons turns into a "how jacked the lofts are" who gives a s**t

I know how far I hit my PW weather it is 45/46/47 and I could not care less if "my buddy" hits his PW 145 when I hit it 115 as long as I hit the green :)
You mean to tell me that you don't have the "Hey, what loft are you picking?" as you stand on the par 3 tee box. I think the jacked loft discussion is ridiculous. It's obvious as to why the manufacturers choose to do this. They now sell 4 or 5-PW as the standard set, sell a couple hybrids to fill the gap of their 3 and 4 irons and now have to sell 3 to 4 wedges. Iron set prices are about the same price as when the typical or standard set included 8 clubs (3-P), but now the consumer has to pay for hybrids @ $200 each and wedges @ $100+ each. In the end, jacking lofts make consumers buy more clubs and make them feel like King Kong.

Absolutely spot on, Thug.
And like fools some people fall for it and spend spend spend.

Here's the look...........see how it is different:

This is actually brillant!!

Two ways to flex the face.........
1) The ICT flexes the entire face, ie trampoline Effect;
2) The Speed Slot bends the face in and out from a higer fulcrum with the lower portion flexing the most distance, ie Diving Board Effect like in a swimming pool.

Lots of flexing going on here...Very interesting.....what's next...wow

The USGA must be overwhelmed by this type of technology in the heads of clubs

What he is trying to say is: the pw for instance goes higher than a standard pw. So, to get it to launch at the same angle and reach the same apex, they need to strengthen the loft. So in theory ignoring variables like spin and air density, etc..., the TMAG will go farther. Loft strengthening is necessary to keep from balooning.

Well, if they don't turn out to improve distance and distance control as advertised, at least they have a great name, beautiful aesthetics, and retain value well.

i don´t like them. i prefer a forged, pure and clean cavity back or blade without all that high technology... forgivness and distance....that´s all well and good, but the spirit of the game is somehow disappearing...with clubs called like weapons etc. and fat like shovles....:-) only my opinion...
nevertheless the marketing of taylor made does a really good job...the masses will love them....i´ll go an other way :-)

Oh, trust me, I know what he was trying to say. I was teasing a little bit.
But Manufacturers use the excuse that they have to strengthen lofts to keep control of the ball flight, but it is nonsense really. The primary reason, as far as I'm concerned, for strengthening lofts is to make clubs hit further, thus making your average club golfer think the new clubs they are trying are significantly better and longer than their present clubs.
Ball trajectories can be affected by altering the C.O.G on golf clubs, not just by altering lofts.

So for a summary of the last 10 pages.

1. Unless your a TM fanboy you realize the non-tours are a gimmick (jacked up lofts etc..)
2. Until someone can compare the tours vs current similar models its all a bunch of hype.
3. If the tours turn out to be longer apples to apples then we have something and they'll be the biggest thing on here since the i20s.
