Id love to see someone change the lofts of the Tour iron to that of a comparable type iron (I.E. AP2), with the same shafts, to see what real distances gains there are once the matter of jacked lofts is taken out of it. Could be quite interesting.
The tour version have the same lofts as the ap2. So u coul just compare them straight across to see if they r better.
They certainly don't have the same lofts as AP2s. AP2 6 iron is 31* and the RocketBladez is 29.5*.

I don't need my skulled shots going even further over the green. I will stick with my m510 and c510 combo set.
A skulled shot is when a ball hits below the grooves on the leading edge and flys forever.

My understanding is the slot expands the sweet spot low on the grooves. A shot low on the grooves flys shorter, so the expanded forgiveness low on the club face improves distance and does NOT effect skulled shots.

Am I making sense? Thanks!~

I guess I meant to say thin shots then. It's still has to compress that channel when you do in fact skull the ball, giving it more distance than when you skull it without the channel. Wich in turn means more thin/skulledflop shots speeding over the green. Not that this is a problem for me but just a potential problem. See with the technology.

Just saw some pics of the topline of the RBladez Tour and they look pretty good. This is probably insignificant but I'd hate trying to clean out the dirt from that velocity slot on the sole.

Sorry if I missed this, but what's the stock shaft on the Tours going to be?

And are the Tours replacing the MCs in the lineup or is it just another option? The MCs were pretty popular on Tour bags, based on what I have seen in the WITB pictures.

What a joke... "Rocketbladez 6-iron is 11+ yards longer" than a Callaway X-22 6-iron. Well lets follow up!
Rocketbladez 6-iron: 26.5* of loft and 37.625" long
X-22 6-iron: 30* of loft and 37.25" long

So you're basically telling me that the speed slot has done just about NADA to club distance vs. the X-22s.
Lesser informed golfers just read it and eat it up...Irons arent significantly different than each other from brand to brand, just one company stamps it a 6 and one a 5.

Looks like all of the custom shaft options are on TM's site already... as I suspected, the standard are a .370 hosel size, which makes my dream set up of 3-6 Standard and 7-PW Tour with C-Tapers impossible. Bummer. But I'm flirting with the idea of a graphite shafted 3-5 with the rest in C-Tapers. Who knows. The sky is the limit. I'm pumped for these and that haters can hate all they like... TM builds great product however you feel about their brand, and markets it better than the other guys...

Believe me, I know. I started avidly playing again earlier this year and picked up some original RBZs and was like, "holy crap I just hit my 7-iron 180 yards." Then I realized I had a 25 yard gap between it and my 8-iron in distance. Then I read up some more, said screw that, and bought idea pro a12's.

My point exactly. And if you had 25 yards difference, well, your sweet spot must be pristine from lack of use.

I'll whole-heartedly admit my swing at that point in time wasn't great, nor consistent. But it has gotten much better since then. Although, happy to see people still like to be internet-tough guys. I was merely pointing out holes in Tmags marketing, not pissing on your parade.

So yeah, swing wasn't great, nor consistent. But you did some reading and decided it was the irons fault. Gotcha. I like how me making the obvious comment makes me a "tough guy," but a guy who couldn't hit an iron and decides it's the company's marketing departments fault ISN'T the tough guy. The internet tough guy here is YOU.

I always thought the TP Flags were a great distinguishing factor for TM when looking at peoples bags...of course a quick thought and whats more attention grabbing than a hole in the club?!? I was hoping for something a little less subdued from the badge, but it's simply aesthetics anyways.

I can't wait to see what kind of flight the 4 and 5 irons deliver...stronger lofts offset by the higher lofts should be very interesting to try!

Also...if only the cavity is filled with the polymer, will we have to deal with dirt and grass getting into the speedslot??

I do not know if anyone has commented on aesthetics of the clubs and the new color combination. I am really liking the yellow instead of the slime green. The badge looks really clean and attractive. I guess I am still a sucker for the way a club looks which I know really does not translate to how the club will preform. Another winner from TM, and more than likely a industry leading iron.... again.

If you look at the lofts on the tours they are standard lofts, and are pretty much the norm versus any others players irons. If you look both the tour, and non tour stack up almost exactly in both loft and length to the AP1s and AP2s from Titleist.
