A big thank you to Taylormade and GolfWRX for taking the time to educate all of us about this exciting new iron!

I understand the technology and am curious what type of gapping is anticipated with set?
Brett Wahl told me to anticipate 11-13 becoming more "standard" gapping last spring and am curious if that gapping is what is intended for this set?

I think it would be ideal if the longer irons would provide for the longer gapping to keep up with the TERRIFIC gains players have had with the Rocketballz Metal woods and Rescues. I understand the lack of the slot in the shorter irons to narrow the gaps and also provide for a traditional launch condition.
Very happy to see KBS as the stock shaft, nearly all of the fittings I did this year for the RBZ seemed to prefer the feel of the KBS.

Looking forward to another great year for Tmag. Thanks again!

Thanks for opportunity guys. Will there be a Rocketbladez iron that will be similar to a "B" heads made in the past, or a no offset version for Tour Players like you've made for players like Goosen and Lehman in the past? Maybe even available in forged or does forging defeat the purpose of having a distance iron?

Hi TM!:

I think you have a major hit here on your hands with the new RocketBladez and RocketBladez Tour irons.

On your web site, www.taylormadegolf.com, you highlight the Speed Pocket in this new line of irons and shows the benefits of this new design. The Speed Pocket improves distance, distance-feel, and control. Faster ball speed and a higher stronger ball flight resulting in a steep quick-stopping descent angle are promoted. I noticed that the set of irons is produced in 3 - 9 iron, PW and AW. A diagram on the web site shows a much larger sweet spot compared to conventional irons.

My first question is why did the engineers put the Speed Slot only in the 3 - 7 irons and not in the 8 - PW and AW. Would the Speed Slot not have been beneficial also in the shorter irons? I have heard that the speed slot was not as beneficial in the more lofted irons.

My second question is why were these irons not forged?

Will there be a forged version in the future?

My fourth question is in regards to the gaps in lofts from iron to iron. I noticed the gaps were not consistent in loft club to club. The gaps between irons are as follows: (Tour Model)

3 - 4: 3 degrees
4 - 5: 3.25 degrees
5 - 6: 4.25 degrees
6 - 7: 4.25 degrees
7 - 8: 4.25 degrees
8 - 9: 4 degrees
9 - PW: 5 degrees
PW - AW: 4.5 degrees

I was wondering how the lofts were decided on. This is not a criticism. I am curious about the thought process that goes into designing clubs.

My next two questions are in regards to the KBS tour shafts as being the standard offering. Why did TM decide on this shaft over the TT DG or TT DG SL? Also, the KBS tour shaft is listed as flighted under trajectory for the specifications but is listed as mid trajectory under custom. Is this an error on the web site or are these two different shafts with the flighted being a special proprietary design specifically for TM?

My final question is will there ever be a 2 iron offered?

Thank you for your time.

I'm confused. Your marketing has been geared toward "Freakishly longer" but everything I've seen says that the slot is more for aiding with off center hits. Which is it? If it is in fact creating more length, how does one deal with the increased yardage gap between the 7 & 8 irons?

Also, is the sole grind more for a sweeper or a digger and are the tour and regular offerings similar in this respect?

Thanks for taking the time to answer some of our questions.

If the speed slot is the true technology allowing extra forgiveness and increased accuracy, can we expect to see an actual blade or slight muscle back with a seed slot. Allowing for more feel, tour look/workability, lower flight, but still get that forgiveness and consistent shots on thin shots, or slightly off center shots?

How much of an upgrade is this iron over your previous offerings? i've been gaming the R7 TP's since launch and haven't had a need to replace them.

Will you be coming out with a forged version in the near future as well? How are these going to compare in feel to the tour preferred mb/cb irons you currently have?
Also what are the shaft options going to be for the tour versions?
Great looking irons btw, anything thats further and more consistent is a must try in my opinion.

When I catch the ball low it usually produces a low hot ball flight that travels farther than I intended. Will having a higher cor low on the face make this miss worse?

Good Morning and thanks to Golfwrx & TMAG for the opportunity to ask a question.

We know that the number one factor in introducing a new product is TOUR PLAYER VALIDATION.
Tour players are very specific about their yardages. With the Rocketbladez and Tour iron how are the Tour players responding to the huge gains in distances that the new irons will be providing?

Thanks for your time.
JWF

P.S. looking forward to Dr. Beniot, Dean Snell & Sean Toulan coming back to Wisconsin. Cant imagine the energy in the presentation this year :)

ALL Taylormade :)

Iron play is all about consistency and distance control. How does the design of this iron accomplish distance gains throughout the set while eliminating the "freakishly longer" than normal shots that could result from such a hot face design? Example, if I go from hitting my old 6 iron 175 consistently to 180 in the RocketBladez with the same loft/shaft that is great, but I don't need it to go 190 if hit on a certain hot spot of the face, etc.

Beautiful clubs (tour version..)!

What are the stock shafts for steel and graphite? What custom shaft offerings will TM have? I have KBS Tour 90s in my R11 irons and would like to try them in the Rocketbladez irons.

As a high school golf coach, I encourage my players to spend 80% of their practice time from a 100 yards and in. We all know that, in doing this we can either make a bad round be good and a good round be great! Will the rocketbladez wedges use the same ATV sole? If so, have there been any improvements or changes to the soles of these clubs and the irons themselves?

Thanks
Coach Stapleton

Do you expect a good percentage of your staffers to switch to the new irons, and if so, will most of them be playing R Bladez or R Blades Tour?

Is the reasoning behind not putting the speed slot in the 8i and below because these irons do not need any help in increasing lauch angle

2. Will it be available in a 1-2 iron? Hitting thin, low stingers with a little extra ball speed would be fantastic.
I second this, along with my earlier question too! Having a 2 iron with these would be fantastic and could possibly get rid of the need for a Hybrid completely.
