wow, been waiting for a long time...now I have to wait until January. now I can carry one hybrid and one fariway and add another wedge. I forgot the rules, can you change the loft during a round in a am tournament? If somebody knows so I don't have to look it up?
No, you can't change the loft of club mid round.

Having had all of Nike's Driver, I have to say that they hit a GRANDSLAM with this one! A Cavity Back Driver, (really!!!) Why did it take so long for someone to think of this, not only that but you can adjust both loft and angle.............SWEET!!!! I'm using the Vr Tour Driver now and hitting it 290, can't wait to get my hands on this club in Feb....Somebody call Golf Digest cause this one is going on the (GOLD) Hot list!!!

Very, very impressive. I agree with smackygolf, these just look mean. Like weaponry almost but classy at the same time.

All the way up to 12.5 on the driver is great, as is the adjustable lofts on fairways hybrids. It's great for both customers and retailers.

One question (Hip, smackygolf, etc...): What are the stock lengths? Please be 45.5" or less on the driver, preferably less.

I wish GolfWRX had live chat rooms where we could talk about this stuff in real time. Would be legit!

Yea the swoosh is no good in my opinion, though I am never looking anywhere other than at the ball when the club is at address, so not sure if it would bug me or not. I'd honestly like to paint the sucker flat black and let 'er rip. Looks like it could be a beast off the tee.

Don't know much about Kuro Kage....any good? Will these be junky made for, or legitimate shafts that happen to have a nike tip on them? I'm assuming cheap made for, but maybe I'm wrong. Also, any idea on price for the tour version? Driver and 3W preferably. I have never liked nike hybrids.

It cant wait to try this thing out but i bet there was more to this then just innovating a "better" driver.

I can imagine that part of the initiative to bring this driver to the masses was to help reduce the final cost of production. instead of having to have factories cast heads with different lofts they just cast two different style heads and do it in RH and LH. From a retail perspective this is ingenious since now the only SKU's that stores have to carry is RH and LH and Shaft flex, no more worrying about having certain lofts in stock which will also help people looking for lower and/or higher lofts.

My only concern now is that with this new complicated sleeve to allow for all of this lie and loft adjusting is how easy will it be to re-shaft??

Cheers

I'd didnt take this long for someone to come up with a cavity back driver, the hammer x has it and has been available for years!

Seriously proud to already have an all Nike bag of clubs that perform. Can't wait to get this club in my hands and don't think I was this excited about the previous VR Pro LE and Vr_S lines even though I love them and have them in my bag.

Nike is really making progress and the innovation and performance they are throwing into these two lines are great. Being able to have a shaft that works for you and then being able to play with loft and face angle independently can produce some amazing results. I think they have a big leap on some companies after this release, we will see how they play! I can take the red, yes its different but hey if the technology is there to back it, which I am SURE of, I'll definitely play these clubs.

I could see myself gaming this but the tech doesn't make any sense. i mean they just inverted the back of the sole, so how does that save weight? they are most likely only talking about a gram or less, which is insignificant. And changing face angle at address ALWAYS changes loft at impact, or vise versa.

altogther the look is better than I expected when it leaked that it was going to be red.

Nike Golf introduced its new line of Covert Drivers, Woods and Hybrids for the 2012-13 season. You'll find plenty of visuals on the new Covert line: bold red paint, the unmistakable 'Swoosh' on the crown and large cavity, pushing perimeter weighting to its limits. One item you won't find however, is loft -- well, a single loft anyway.

The new Nike Golf Covert woods have Nike's FlexLoft system, which allows loft to be adjusted from 8.5 to 12.5 degrees. Lie and face angle are also adjustable, and all three can be tweaked independently.

The 460cc Nike VR_S Covert Driver will retail for $299 and come stock with a 50g Mitsubishi Kuro Kage 50g shaft.

The Covert Tour Driver is 430cc, pear-shaped, and comes standard with a 60g Mitsubishi Kuro Kage shaft. Retail will be $399.

Both will be available in February 2013.

GolfWRX visited Nike Golf at The Oven in Fort Worth, Texas, where Nike Golf Engineer Robert Boyd gave us the inside scoop on the new Nike Golf Covert drivers. Video is below.

Guys.....we've all seen things that are "different"....white caught us off guard but widely accepted now....Cobra and Callaway both using wide array of colors. NIKE used current technology and improved it with radical cavity design.February will be here soon enough for all of us to swing it and give our thoughts. Until then, shall we not pass judgment and enjoy pics?

The Tour looks like a deep faced Spin Killer. At 430cc I absolutely expect this to be in Tiger's bag.

Nike and Cobra down to one driver head for all lofts...who is next? I'm betting on Taylormade and Adams.

I'm not crazy about weird colored drivers, i know it's done to make them visible on TV when pros use it. But i like looking down at a black driver. It certainly pushes the envelope for looks overall. Definitely funky, but performance will tell if it's funkayyy
