you know a driver is baller aswell when it says "driver" on it. And spells out "loft"

i have a friend that has a wedge that says "50yds and in"

shot selection advice written on the club= baller
I do that on my putter . It says " greens only"
My driver says "Ladies tee box, and out"

I don't know about you guys, but if a guy on the first tee is digging around his bag saying "I'm sure I got some balls in here somewhere", then proceeds to pull out a 2 year old crushed sleeve of ProV's with one ball left in it, and says "Ahhh, there we go", I think I would probably just pay up at that point, and try to enjoy the round instead of getting sh@t hauled for the next 4 hours.....

Funny...I updated my entire bag 18 mos ago. Everything. (Except the bag itself which is about 10 yrs old.). Before the update I had 15 year old irons, a 25 year old SW, a 40+ year old Bullseye, non-matching headcovers, and even a newer V-steel 4w. Now all the stuff is new....what does that make me? Oh, the kicker...I just swapped drivers...now gaming a used Titleist 907D2!

One take some lessons and work on your game or two just be a poser with a fancy intimidation bag.

I choose the first option.

I chose the second option and it's done wonders for my game.

Another guy and I were chatting about this exact thread. He worked at our club when we hosted the Canadian Open -- apparently the caddies left behind a stack of Amino Vital towels. He dropped one off at the club for me a week later. All class.

BTW - I found an old Ping Anser with lead tape in three places and a brand new midnight super stroke slim 1.0 in a bargain bin and had to have it.

Best post ever. On any forum. Only replied to bump it up cause everyone should read this once in a while.

I guess carrying a Ping iWedge disqualifies me. Otherwise, I'm set with an old titleist carry bag, Ping i25 driver and 3 wood (which just last week became intimidating when they were replaced by the LS tec), v-steel 5 wood, 712 AP2's and a '97 newport 2. Oh, and I do carry a ping eye 1 iron which I actually use.

If you see a guy with a Titleist PT13 with X100 steel shaft, just keep quiet. By far that's the hardest club I've tried to hit - ever.

that is an article that makes me laugh, what is even funnier is people will take it serious and go out and make a bag this way.

Problem for me is i don't look at bags, i could care less.

Again well written and made me laugh.

Oh No!!! Do you realize what you have done? Now the posers know what they need to buy in order to disguise themselves out there. Now all the "real" players will need to get something more unique and older like an original Big Bertha driver and Ping Eye 2 irons. Then you will probably write an article about that and posers will get that stuff. Before you know it all the good players will be playing Wilson woods and original McGregor irons with Balata balls. Oh my gosh. If the cycle continues we will all end up playing gutties and mashies again.

I kinda like my current bag as an intimidating/poser bag (4ish handicap). 2Deep as my 'driver' says I'm long enought hat I can sacrifice yards. MIzzy blades (tho only 67's current;y, sold off my 60/32 combo set). Custom Edel wedges (knows that good wedges make a huge difference) and a rusted up, lead taped slathered Yes putter (could insert basically any putter with that description).

I have 6 different brands in my current bag and am happy with everything.

Love this thread. Since I relegated the Callaway irons to the back up bag, the gamer bag is now:

905R w/ GD YS6+ (lead tape)

904F 17 deg w/Fuji Speeder

i15 20 deg hybrid w/Axivcore

3-E Ben Hogan Apex FTX w/DG

Callaway 52, 58 C Grind Forged (lead tape)

Ping 029 Anser MnBR (6 strips of lead tape)

Ping J Bag (lighter version of the Hoofer 2 from 12 years ago....bulletproof and not a mark or frayed stitch on it)
Close enough?

How about having an intimidating game....no one cares what your hitting once they see you play....seen everything imaginable and doesn't mean squat.....seen guys shoot 100 plus with a tour bag and mb irons and guys shoot in 60's with 20 yr old beat up clubs and everything in between.....

If you can actually play than that's all the intimidation you'll need....if you can't than it doesn't matter anyway

Great article! Time to evaluate my equipment and my intimidation factor!

Ping driver - stock shaft that is neither X nor tipped = unWRXer - Real WRXers only play X or S shafts tipped 3 inches.
Adams 3 Wood - who cares!
Ping 2 hybrid - unWRXer - real WRXers play blades! Especially long irons, preferably a 1 iron. No one with dignity would go over a long carry looking down at a hybrid!
Ping i5 irons - chopper - GI irons are for people who can't learn to swing properly and have sacrificed their dignity for a potentially slightly lower score.
Ping Wedges - ultra chopper - Nothing more to say.
TP Mills Softtail - Poser - Real players don't need fancy putters unless they have the words "Scotty Cameron" on them.

So that makes me a unWRX-chopper/poser! Intimidation factor is < 0!

I am glad I read your article so I can get myself together!
