I didn't buy the masters shirt because it was medium but if anyone is interested I can head back. The clubs are 2-w sw and lw. Burner driver and burner 5w. All in great shape. The bag is decent too. All out the door for 24.75.

 

They also had ping i3 osize iron set but graphite and a guy's name was engraved on hosel or I would have bought them as well. Came with another callaway bag for 24 dollars as well.

 

 

You can sand those names out and it doesn't look too bad. I've done it on those irons.

Found these Maxfli Revolutions in pretty good shape for $30 all in at Goodwill the other day. Set is 3-PW with TT Dynalite Golds in S300.

 

They are not the more desirable "Black dot" revs, but they still look compact enough for my eye. Besides, I can use the help!

 

I'm anxious to get them out to the range and experience their legendary softness for myself.

Picked up a set of Amour 845 Silver Scot’s 3-PW, W3, SW, Titleist 975D driver with a ProForce 75 shaft, two 588 Cleveland wedges, and a knock-off blade putter in a decent condition Nike cart bag for $35. Purchased at a rental house clean out where the owner was purging all the junk left behind by the previous tenants.

Found an Odyssey DFX 3300 insert putter at Goodwill yesterday for $1.99. It may have been tomahawked into the ground at some point - the loft angle was way out of whack and the head was covered in dirt. I reset the loft angle to 4 degrees using my bench vise and a magnetic protractor, then tried it out on my putting mat. It rolls great! I'm going to try a DIY refinish, either in a Milwaukee Brewers theme and keep it for myself, or with a neon pink paint fill and give it to my wife. If it turns out the way I want, I'll throw a new grip on it too.

 

Figured that if I mess it up, I'm only out $1.99.

Haven't had too much luck for a while, but managed to find this sweet Titleist staff bag for $10 last week, and also non-golf related, but picked up a Yakima roof box for $20 the next day at a different store that just needs a clean up and a new key!

Yeah I'm pretty cheap (you got me on that one!), but it'll get a new grip if she ends up with it. I just want to make sure that I can sand the little nicks and dings out of the head before I spend the $ on a grip.

The grip appears to be the original, although it is a bit worn. It's useable the way it is I suppose, but the grip feels like it has hardened over time. Is that used grip really worth that much?

Sand it down with some 100 grit (give or take) sandpaper, then get a brillo pad and soap and scrub it some more. I am telling you it will come out like new. If it is the DFX grip they are very desirable grips.

 

 

Yes, you should be able to get around $20 for the grip even if it is pulled - though you will have to wait between April to Sept to sell it since golf clubs/component prices on eBay basically plummet during this time of year.

Thank you for the information and the link Joe. Indeed, that is the grip that is on this putter. I will certainly try your method of refreshing that grip. This could end up being the cheapest putter restoration ever!

I'll post pictures later but my finds include: Several stand bags in great condition from Callaway, Nike and Tour Edge, a set of Tour Edge Exotics XCG irons 3-PW for $20. A Prince 3 and 5 Wood (may not be great just got them but should be interesting to try) 7 and 9 Woods and a 3 Hybrid from MG Golf. A Taylormade R580 driver and probably some others that I can't think of right now

I grabbed these Dunlop Maxflis (5-PW). Looked and looked, couldn't find the 4 iron. The 3 iron was there but have a broken set like that makes people even less interested if you sell them.

 

 

 

 

 

 

Does anyone know the right name for these irons? They aren't "Australian Blades" are they? Are they forged? I might have left them there if not for them having the factory/original grips.

Great finds, wish your price maker would come up here, thought I'd stumbled upon a great deal the other day with a set of Burner HT irons 5-AW with a $20 sticker on each iron - my thought was "sweet, $20 for the set!" Apparently not, they wanted $20 per iron for the grand total of $140 for the set...which was promptly put back on the shelf...I've had pretty good luck for a while now (usually $5-$8 per club which I'm ok with if I'm going to be using it) but $20 a club is a bit steep for me haha.

 

I usually frequent 3 stores.

 

St Vincent thrift store - They don't even bother putting prices on the clubs.. they are $1 each..

Valley thrift store - Usually less than $1, but very busy..

Goodwill - more expensive but has better items.

 

 

You have to be patient..

 

That Valley Thrift in particular... you have to have a death wish or 4 hours to kill to spend time in there (or the parking lot!)

I got a stainless anser 4, a BB hawkeye 9* driver an orlimar 9.5* a mizuno wedge and a colt Tear gas pen. Probably have a few others laying around that I got ther also, was really suprised to find the pen.
