Glad I found this threat! Its given me the inspiration to start checking my local thrift stores! Some really cool finds in here.

 

Similarly (but not really)... I used to work for a teaching pro. People were always donating old clubs to him and we'd cut down the shafts and put new grips on them then give them to juniors. A lot of them were junk but a bunch of them were really cool clubs and luckily I got to hit a lot of them.

Found two putters at goodwill today. 4.79 invested.

Had a long dry spell lately, but this week has been amazing - full set of Taylormade 300 forged 3-PW in unreal shape for $40, a set of Adams A3OS hybrid irons 6-PW for $25, and a Ping Mantis Sunday bag for $2, plus it's above 20*C for the first time in 200 days, it's been a good week!

I got a set of those 300 Forged from GW back about 8 years ago(?) with RIfles as I recall. I sold them to one of my buddies and he still has them. They are beautiful irons. They were one of the best finds I ever got from GW and I've found some great stuff over the years.

I gamed a Caliente years ago. Pretty nice putter -- excellent alignment aids, super soft feel (downside is that it dings like crazy).

I got a set of those 300 Forged from GW back about 8 years ago(?) with RIfles as I recall. I sold them to one of my buddies and he still has them. They are beautiful irons. They were one of the best finds I ever got from GW and I've found some great stuff over the years.

 

I believe the 300's were Miura forgings.

Those are nice irons. I've always like the 300 Series...

 

I picked up these TM 360s at Goodwill "Blue Hanger" Outlet 2 weeks ago for $7.40. REALLY nice shape. 3-SW. The sandy is a 300, but that's no big deal.

which iron are you missing?

 

I was able to get 4-E/pw. No missing, all serials match.

 

I think the guy before my grabbed the fairway woods and left the driver.

 

 

There was a drought in that Eagan store for the longest time. Nice looking set of Apex's I can't say I think I've ever seen that style of Hogans.

As a casual thrifter, I will stop to check if I'm in the area. Most of the time there is nothing worthwhile. Maybe I was going to the wrong locations. That or Joe85 was getting to all the good stuff beforehand.

There seems to be more stuff showing up lately. I haven't been getting south of the Cities much though anymore.

 

 

That Eagan store - I stopped in there a half dozen times in the last 8 months or so and I swear there wasn't once club in there on several occasions and mostly junk aside from that. I have had some success over there over the years though.

 

 

 

As a casual thrifter, I will stop to check if I'm in the area. Most of the time there is nothing worthwhile. Maybe I was going to the wrong locations. That or Joe85 was getting to all the good stuff beforehand.

 

 

Working a lot more now. There are a rotation of about three stores on my way to work that I have been hitting once or twice a week. Aside from that I am not doing it very often.

Haha. No, they were there and I took a few pics. I didn't buy them as the faces had pretty heavy discoloration, and I'm not too familiar with Snake Eyes, but knew they had a good rep. It was odd because the shafts and back of the clubs looked virtually new. Also, they had the set all taped together with a few old rusty Wilson clubs in with them. This is the same shop I found a nice set of 735cm's a few years back for under $10. Obviously no one there culling the good stuff.

 

Still not sure how to upload pics to WRX. Someone said via Facebook but I don't have or want an account. I use an iPhone and a Mac if anyone wants to list the steps.

Give them an alias or fake name and then just use it to save pictures of stuff over time - in Facebook you can also keep all of it private to the degree you want to keep anything you post on it private.

 

I get it if you don't want more of an Internet footprint though. Just saying this is an easy work around for me.

 

 

 

 

I think I had a set of those TC01 irons not long ago - I think I got them from GW if I recall correctly.

On my phone I switch to the full site (link at bottom of forum mobile page). Then when making a post go to the full post editor using the More Reply Options link below the text box, then add the pictures as attachments. See screenshots below.
