Post your Goodwill / Thrift store finds (NO BuySellTrade POSTS)

I hit the thrift stores and one time I found a staff bag, can't remember the brand but I thought it was pretty neat but inside of a pocket was this sign that the people hold up when they want everyone to be quiet and it has an autograph of John Daly, now I am not crazy about him or anything but it was kind of neat to find in there. Can anyone tell if it's a legit autograph, does it look like his?

I doubt someone would fake a John Daly autograph.

Never found anything good.

Might be because I live in Chicago and they either get scooped up right when they land, or the owners are smart enough to post on Ebay/Craigslist.

But I'm still gonna look every d*&$ time I go!

almost walked across the street to a Play It Again and asked them to give me $20 for it

I would put that on Ebay, started price .55 Anyway, an interesting find, kind of fun.

Was out with my family when they came out to visit and my mother is an avid thrift store shopper. I checked out the rack outside that contained an assortment of old clubs and was able to gather a full set of 1965 MacGregor Tourney DX2 Irons 2-9 and WDX2 woods 1-4. These are in excellent condition. The 5 iron has a nick, but this set was hardly used. Original Tourney action shafts and grips

I got a TM R5 staff bag at Goodwill for about $6 a few months ago. Sold it on Ebay a couple weeks ago.

Found them online, it was about $300 new for these.

 

 

 

 

I would put these up on ebay individually as ball markers for a few bucks each. Hell i might even buy a couple!!

Didn't find any golf equipment, however I did pick up 6 sterling silver candle sticks a serving tray and candy tray for $3 a piece. Flipped them on the bay and made enough to buy a new Titleist 913 driver. So in a round about way, golf related:)

Found a Ping Anser 20 degree hybrid in very good condition for $2.99 at the Cambridge, MA Goodwill. Included a head cover and still had the retail stickers on the shaft. It has an R flex so I am thinking of flipping it.

Buy a stiff shaft off eBay and reshaft it. It's a fantastic club.

Really wanted to get this thread started up again so today I went by the goodwill near my parents house and actually got a few decent clubs for $2.92 each. The 1st 2 are some Macgregor MTs from the early 80's I think, mainly got these just to try out a decent 2 iron at the range. The next one is a Titleist PT 15 degree 3 wood. I know its an older club but I have been thinking about getting one of these for so long to add to my playing set and I couldn't believe it was there. Almost wanted to cry. The head is in almost perfect condition too with a prolite 35s shaft. It is missing the grip though, but Ill throw on an extra one I have here at the house tonight.

I pop by the GW every now and then. A couple weeks ago I found a Yes! Tracy II putter. I have been thinking of getting a Yes! Donna so I picked up the Tracy II just to see if I would like the feel even though it was a little short. I put an extension on the shaft to get it to 35" and took it to the course one day for the heck of it. It is now in the bag. Feels great. It is a little worse for wear. You can tell where the shaft rubbed against someone's bag for probably a few hundred rounds. The chrome is nearly rubbed through. The head is still clean though with no nicks on the topline. Not bad for $2.99. I'll probably keep it in the bag until I find a Donna.

No reason to go to ebay for a shaft... I've bought quite a few Goodwill clubs just to pull the shaft or grip. I've bought a few kbs & TT iron shafts, some decent wood shafts, super strokes, a few New Decade MC's, and other grips. There are $3 treasures at the bottom of the golf club rack too.
