I love that tee shot...

I was lucky enough to be in Hawaii about 11months ago and that is exactly how I remember it. Being there now for the Hyundai ToC would be unbelievable.

All the best to all the WRX'ers heading to Maui!

PS: Sorry for the thread-jack, I just couldn't resist after seeing that photo!

Some of his TM outfits looked like stuff kids wore when I was in Kindergarten. This is a huge improvement.

I couldn't disagree more but thats what makes us all unique

Anyway here is the official TM release regarding Bubba https://twitter.com/TRAVISMATHEW/status/285813286291775490/photo/1

Didn't know he left Travis Mathew. Just spent the last five minutes searching the internet for info. Feel like a jr high kid who missed out on a rumor.

Nice catch for Oakley. They get Bubba AND Rory/Nike court money?

What is Travis Mathew?

And why did they spell Matthew incorrectly?

No wonder Bubba left them.

It's crazy that Bubbas swing works, that position is less than ideal.
But does it really work? He's only got 4 PGA Tour wins over the past 3 years including The Masters...
I think you answered your own question (although may it was sarcasm)

Like with many players he can be ice cold with the putter, and chilly with the chipping

Didn't see that coming, I always liked Bubba's TM styling...hopefully Oakley suits him with some nice stuff, always liked their colours and BELTS.
I must admit that I've always thought that he is the last guy on tour that people would look to when choosing golf clothes. He looks like a complete redneck no matter what he wears, a situation exacerbated by his bizarre insistence on tieing his top button

rednecks "tie" their top button? Who knew??

I know TONS, and most don't "tie" any of their buttons.

Travis Mathew is a clothing company.

Mathew is spelled with one T because the founder Travis Matthew Johnson didn't want a company named exactly after him. He came up with the idea of just using his first and middle name after he was ID'ed at a bar and the bouncer said "Travis Matthew, isn't that cute."

Travis Johnson left the company in 2010. He is now working for Leisure Society and they are getting ready to launch a new brand called Matte Grey, which is supposed to be similar to Travis Mathew at a better price point.

Seriously is there a hole better than Plantation 18? Remove nestalgia all that cr*p and show me a hole that is more fun.
I actually hated 18 at Kapalua the two times I played it. Maybe it was because the course was dried out and running really fast during the summer time...but I hated hitting a 270 yard tee shot down the middle only to find that it rolled out to 430 yards and it had rolled up into the hazard that comes in towards the fairway about 150 yards out. This happened to all 4 guys in our group the first time we played the hole. The 2nd time, I hit a hybrid off the tee to the far right side of the fairway to keep it from funneling down so hard to the left.

Other than that though I really enjoyed the course. I've never played on greens with so much gravitational pull. Once you figure that part out then it's a great round of golf. I enjoyed the 36 holes on Lanai better but Kapalua was a blast as well.
