I just started doing the plan in this book this over the last two weeks. So far, I really like it.

Plus, its winter. I am wondering how your fit will change if you get SS back.

Yes it does, I like the bigger D2 head and the added forgiveness it brings to the table. I'm really happy with this setup, when I look down at the setup in A1 it just looks really good.

For those of you who I haven’t met my name is Peter Farner. I am one of the 13 TrackMan Master’s in the US and currently work as a Performance Fitting Specialist at Carl’s Golfland in Bloomfield Hills, MI. I previously worked as a Maxx Club Fitter at Miles of Golf until joining the Golfland team in February of 2102.

In light of some recent conversations here on GolfWRX, we at Carl’s Golfland would like to clear the air on some important topics as well as extend a special offer to all of those involved.

Carl’s Golfland has never used flighted golf balls on our range. The Launch Pad uses full flight Top Flite Tour Range balls as well as a variety of premium balls for club fitting that we keep separate from our general range in order to insure accuracy and consistency in all of our fittings. We use TrackMan III and IIIe systems with the latest version of TrackMan Performance Studio. We use OEM fitting equipment with no “universal” adaptors and consistently monitor and check our equipment to ensure the best possible results for our customers.

We are also very confident in our staff and their abilities. We can proudly say that we feel we are not only one of the best club fitting facilities in the Midwest but in the United States as well.

Because of this, Carl, owner of Carl’s Golfland would like to extend a special invitation to those of you on the following list:

-Wet Doggg
-Jspangler
-3 Jack Par
-odshot68
-itw419
-cassel191919

-dozer996
-orchardlake2003
-bppry
-ferrispgm
-Shaanko
-campbellgolf9265

Because of your involvement in these threads, be it good, bad, or indifferent, Carl invites you to visit that Launch Pad at Carl’s Golfland for a complimentary Performance Driver or Iron Fitting at no cost to you. We also encourage you to blog, write, and share your story, be it good or bad, with anyone you’d like.

To sign up for your complimentary Performance Driver or Iron Fitting please PM me.

In the meantime I encourage you to take a look at www.carlsgolfland.com/launchpad for some quick information on our facility as well as a short video tour.

Thank you,

Pure impact golf studio is the best. Not sure about the guys that say he fits you inside... I've been there 5+ times each year for the past 3 years and Chris always takes me outside to make sure things are to my liking.

The new Launchpad at Carls does look intriguing

Probably depends on when you go. I did an iron and driver fitting there in March (2012) and never hit a ball outside. It was never presented as an option.

Just want to clarify. Did not meant to present the lack of outdoor hitting in a negative context. Just wanted to point out that it was not presented as an option. Could've been the foot of snow on the ground.....

My first ever fitting there, it was snowing... Chris set a mat up by his bay door for me to hit over the parking lot into the range. Obviously there were no people on the range because it was winter and the lot was empty... Maybe he doesn't do that for everybody or not at all anymore?

It is nice that Chris has all the left handed stuff because he is as well. That may be why I like his fittings better haha

Chris is fitting me for a driver on Friday and I am pretty excited. I worked with him a few times over the past month getting the specs on my belly putter correct. I used it for the first time on grass in Myrtle Beach this past weekend and I honestly could not be happier with the results. It was easily the best I have ever lag putted and pretty much everything inside 5 feet was automatic. I'm really excited to see what he can do with a driver for me.

Nice, let us know what you end up with.
[/quote]

Absolutely. I'm very confident that whatever I am fitted for will be a huge improvement. Right now I am playing a driver I blind ordered from the manufacturer. Last time I was at the simulator (incredibly rough numbers, I know) I was launching it at 16 degrees with RPM in the high 4000s.

I recently was fitted by Pete Farner at Carls Launch Lab for a Driver. He was great to work with and presented me with every option out there. I ended up going with a surprising selection.

I ended up with the Tour Edge XCG6 with the RIP Phenom 50 in X flex. It beat out the R1 with AD DI6X.

The numbers are below:

168 Ball Speed
10.9 Launch Angle
2750 Spin
-1.5 Angle of Attack
281 Carry
306.4 Total
33* Landing Angle

I was able to pick up 20 yards of carry and reduce my shot dispersion nearly 10 fold with this over my R11 TP. I still have to work on the angle of attack, but I'll take these results for now.

I wasn't able to get in on the free fitting, but it was well worth the $50 after applying a portion to the driver purchase. I can't wait for this thing to be delivered.

That XCG6 was quite a revelation to me, too. I had no real expectations when Pete put it in my hands, but I was really pleasantly surprised. It's a great stick. It gave me basically the same numbers as my Fast 12LS, so I didn't pull the trigger, but if I were buying a new one this year, it would be on the short list, along with the RFX.

Think they will have the course open this weekend? I don't know about driving #1, but hopefully I have a lot more confidence with the driver this year. I was getting tired of hitting 3 wood off the tee towards the end of the year.

He has all the equipment that Miles and Carls has + all the soft Japanese Forgings you could want.

If you like an adapter that changes the weight of the club. Its not the same feel as hitting the club without it. Plus, you hit indoors and don't see the ball flight during the fitting. That with his phone going off during the fitting. I would stick with Carls or Miles.

I agree 100%
Every time I order ANYTHING from him he NEVER sticks to his word when the stuff will be in. Bad for business. Bad for golf.

Heading back to the Launch Pad on Saturday to try out the RFX with the X-stiff Black Tie, and to give the G25 another look. My Fast 12LS is a good stick, but it's pretty unforgiving on heel misses, and I'm wondering if it might make sense to give up some spin reduction for a little help on the misses. I'm wishing now that I'd held on to the AD-BB from the Anser I sold. Though the combo I'm intrigued by now is with a Speeder Tour Spec 6.2X. I may still stick with what I have, but it may be time to admit that I could use a more forgiving club some days.

I went to Pure Impact the other day to check out some hybrids. I was somewhat surprised with the results. The Nike Covert Tour with the stock Kure Kage shaft gave me the best results. I tried the RBZ stage 2 and Callaway X Hot Pro with stock shafts and with the VTS Tour spec. The Nike was going so much further that we had to raise the loft a little to get back to the distance I was looking for. It felt better than the other clubs to. I didn't get it yet but I'm really not sure why I haven't. I also had the Lamkin Crosslines put on my clubs. I wanted to try a something cheaper than the GP Decades. I think they are gonna work out but I'll know more after playing a couple rounds.
