I think I'm gonna skip this, after singing up for the Pub Links and the AZ Stroke Play my bank account is anorexic.

One of the reasons I wanted to play this is that it's pretty affordable for 3 rounds of tourney golf, gonna try to round up the $$$.

That being said, anyone wanna buy a few pairs of golf shoes? Hah

Yeah don't have to be a phoenix resident. AZ resident? Maricopa county resident? I think all you have to do is be an am and pay the $$$$

yep...laura called back yesterday and said that the only requirements are that you have an official handicap for the last 2 months...oh...AND TO PAY UP SUCKA!

Very windy day 20+ mph winds in the valley . Did not play in it but played that day.

I forgot to ask what tees the 1-3 is played from lol but that's what I signed up for. I'm pretty sure that group plays from the back tees at maryvale, they can stretch it out at aguila and Papago so I'm interested to see. I'll ask the guys in the pro shop at Papago this weekend if they know the set up

i hope so since maryvale would be silly if they moved that flight up a tee box. it's just over 6700 from the tips and iirc only 6200+ one up. even at 6700 that can take any distance advantage out of the equation for the longer drivers.

I wonder how far they can stretch out Aguila because I heard they are tipping it out for the Pub Links

Aguila can be stretched to about 7100, there's several tee boxes that were built that I've never seen used, think they are tourney boxes only. Changes a couple of the holes lengthwise pretty considerably

Papago Sunday, some of us played maryvale last sat, and I've played aguila so many times so I think I'm ok. I'd like to play again after this Sunday but won't be able to play til the championship.

What division?

i'm still struggling with my swing so i stayed in the 1-3 flight and didn't opt for the championship division.

it's probably been close to 8 years since i've played aguila and i've never stepped foot on maryvale so i'm hoping to play those at least once. i got invited to play superstition mtn on sunday but i think i had better play papago instead.

Aguila is pretty straightforward IMO, where maryvale requires slightly more thought in club selection off the tee.like #6, its only 340 I think but its a dog leg right water on the left that come into play if you go through the fairway (245),but if you go too far right you will be in the trees, or pretty much blocked out by the trees. Its short but you gotta get the ball in the fairway, and at the right angle on some holes. Aguila has softened or entirely removed some of the fairway bunkers to make it more playable.

Did you make youre tee time at papago? I think we still had a couple spots left
