Flops

Didn't Wilson once have a shaft that was half steel and half graphite. I don't recall it being around for very long. I believe it was called Bimatrix.

Edit: it may have been Adams, I don't recall.

Cleveland VAS irons?
dang they might have been a flop, but I won 7 skins with borrowed vas irons and a cheap, knockoff SQ driver last summer.

it was crazy, I tell you.

run of the mill driver with stock shaft
a couple of outdated hybrids
shovel-ier shovels
wedges from same shovel company
some putter with a dead insert and
a hideous grip

Could have been Adams as well, but Wilson's were called "half and half" and they came out for the D-FY line and are available still in the di-11 line.

I have no idea how good they are.

Callaway FT-iZ driver, I'm pretty certain
Straightest driver I ever hit.
Same here. Still gaming a FT-iz, which kicked out a TM Burner and K15 out of my bag. It's not the prettiest or longest club, but it is very accurate.

i have read every post in this but didn't Taylor Made have a shaft with a bubble in it? i remember seeing them once or twice and thinking it was the dumbest thing ever.
Actually the Burner Bubble was the exact opposite of a flop. It sold very well, hugely popular, and was near the beginning of TM's rise in the driver market share before eventually overtaking Callaway.

Goofy now, though.

actually i meant to say i hadn't read every post...i was just getting into golf when i saw the bubble. i was still playing baseball for about 3 or 4 years they overlapped. i have to assume it was during that period. I think the first new driver i purchased was the R7 but it might have been the R5...i don't want to talk about how many i have since!!!!

What about ping eye golf balls? Could you play the two-tone ball today? Not many missteps from ping, but they weren't in the golf ball biz long. At the very least some of those color combos are very collectible and bring great money on eBay.

This makes me laugh, my dad still uses this monstrosity. He has a bag full of custom, high dollar clubs, then this stupid thing. I make fun of him every time he pulls it out. I've tried to get him to get a real wedge numerous times, and he loves this thing. Maybe it takes the heat off his 1960's era bullseye putter with the original grip on it? In all fairness, his short game is impeccable, so I guess the joke is on me. If he could still hit as long as he used to, he'd beat me everytime hands down. I'm 37 and around a 6 hdcp, and he's 61 and around the same.
