Symetra LPGA Tour at Longbow this Weekend Feb 22-24

Just a heads up - anyone interested in seeing some ladies tournament golf this weekend:

Watch Blair ONeal, Sara Brown, Birdie Kim, along with other Symetra Tour stars and future LPGA Tour players tee it up at Longbow Golf Club and for a chance for their share of the $100,000 and an exemption into the RR Donnelly LPGA Founders Cup.

Tuesday February 19th - Player Practice Rounds

Wednesday February 20th - Player Practice Rounds

Friday February 22nd - Sunday February 24th

Tournament Days - Tee Times Start @ 7:30am

Just to follow-up... We went out Sunday to check out the final round action. Brisk temps and a steady 20mph wind made conditions pretty tough. My plan was to camp out on the 8th green and check out how the ladies played the "drivable" par 4. Unfortunately, they had the tees back (305 yards) and the hole was playing directly into the wind, so most were hitting driver to the layup area. We only lasted about 3 groups before we decided to warm up by walking back through the field, taking in the action on 7, 6 and 5 before heading back to the clubhouse and the patio fireplace and some warm adult beverage.

Unfortunately, most of the familiar names weren't around for the Sunday final. Big Break alumni Sara Brown, Blair O'Neal and Carling Coffing all missed the cut.

Winner Jaclyn Sweeney carded a 5 under par 67 on Sunday for a come-from-behind victory with a 3 round total of 7 under par.

Notes:
- The ladies were playing the course at approx 6500 yards. They played the ninth as a par 5.
- Most had caddies, but quite a few were using push carts and a few were even carrying their own bag.
- Sad to say, most of these women had BRUTALLY deliberate routines, especially on the greens. I nearly fell asleep and started snoring.
- Longbow looks to be in SPECTACULAR condition.

Interesting about 9 even if they tipped that out it would be a rather short par 5. Slow play is painful to watch in person, almost makes you happy for commercials on network coverage......almost
I have not been out there in a while I will need to get out there early summer when the rates drop.
