I'm curious as to how all those in pro "yelling" camp would feel if these d bags followed you around and pulled the same crap...

I'm guessing it would last a half dozen holes before you went all fun house mirror on their asses...
Nope, we bust balls continuously in our Sat game.

It's also a terrible analogy because we dont have 10k people cheering when we make a putt like a PGA tour event. Apples and Oranges. These guys arent playing a 20$ nassau. They are playing in front of thousands of people. Its a sporting event. Treat it as such.
I'm not talking about your buddies- random strangers yelling stupid a$$ nonsense after every single swing.

And it's irrelevant the amount you are playing for...

There is no doubt that this buffonery is diminishing the coverage for the majority of the target TV audience. That being the case the PGA tour would be wise to stop it or limit it to Phoenix or the practice rounds so all the DB's can have their day. If the mics picked up that kind of thing at NFL games and it disrupted the commentary-they would fix the problem in a second-too much money invested in the viewing experience and tv rights. People who bring signs or shirts not in the taste of the NFL are escorted out. The PGA tour looks bush league with its tolerance of call in rulings and the inane shouting. The decorum of professional golf is being lost over the "grow the game" mantra.

Are you a professional golfer? If so, how much have your earned in the last 1) year?, 2) 5 years?, 3) lifetime?

I don't suppose that ANYONE (other than yourself) what happens to the ball after YOU swing. :) I don't want pros to be bothered by numbskulls in the gallery. Give the bozos one warning, then eject them permanently.

If that is the comparison you are choosing to draw it just proves you don't get it...try yelling at Wimbledon and see what happens

LOL! Ben did not suffer fools....aka like the fools who run The PGA now. The Masters knows how to run a tournament. The Masters does not charge $5 for a bottle or water, $20 for parking and $10 for a hot dog. People are expected to behave and if they yell and scream - they get ejected.

Cant remember what hole it was, but after one of Kuchar's tee shots in the third round, some guy yelled out "taste the rainbow!"

I heard that one, I was listening to the tourny today on XM, its REAL annoying in the car when the audio picks up on it. Heard it was exceptionally bad today??

Of course you aren't a pro, which is why how YOU feel after someone yells after your swing is irrelevant to the case. Time to wise up if it isn't too late.

You're probably a fine example of those idiots out there screwing up American tournaments with their juvenile antics. No wonder some of our European friends think we're a bunch of bozos. We either act like it on TV or tolerate it in others like a bunch of wimps.

Well said. But realize, a brain surgeon requires sufficient tissue upon which to operate. I suppose a veterinary surgeon (avian) might take on the challenge ....

We can thank Mr Woods for this annoying aspect of professional golf, and the PGA Tour did nothing to stop it. Probably too late to do anything about it now.

Maybe there's another issue here. This appears to be mainly a US phenomenon on golf events broadcast for mostly home consumption but also syndicated overseas. Attitudes represented on these pages show not the slightest concern that the nation State is seen in such a negative light... Not only does the overseas revenue contribute to the economy of the Tour but as a viewing spectacle it represents a flagship view of the state of America. I don't wish to appear provocative but does/ should the Tour take a view on the way American society is portrayed/ represented? Are Americans really so indifferent as to the way the world sees them?
The way the Tour is broadcast is ultimately the responsibility of the Tour business, their shareholders and sponsors. Time for a wake-up call you guys.
