Valley Golf center Long drive

The valley golf center on the westside had a demo day with a long drive competition today.

 

Winner hit ~330

2nd was around ~315 I think

3rd was ~300

 

I was just wondering if that was any of you out there!

 

I think I ended up in 5th place or something with 274.

I thought everyone hit 7 iron in these competitions.....I know I did.

Ha I kid I kid. Didnt know about it or would have made the (long) drive. Was that carry distance? It's astro turf right, should run like hell

Eh. It was just using their monitoring station. Total distance that included the estimated roll out.

I hit every club over 4 iron about the same distance there.... then they hit the net.

hahaha, my thoughts exactly. Although if they're only basing it on their monitors, 330 is a poke.
Im assuming they were using their "new" monitors that measure ball speed and launch angle only. 330 is a very rough estimate.

I was out there both days demoing clubs but I didn't enter the long drive. Would have no chance. I hit quite a few irons.... G25, JPX825, XHot, and AMPs. I'm going to order a set of AMPs, probably from Discount Dan. Also really liked the G25 fairway woods, much more than the XHot, which kind of surprised me. I'm going to pick up the 21*.

As usual, PING was the only company not offering any discount what so ever. Good time though.

They were actually using the training station. They had "exact" numbers but I couldn't remember. Just knew it was in the 330 range.

The new monitors do not make since to me since those are 80% balls.......

I actually avoided ping for no reason. I did hit the X forged and mizuno MP64's. Really liked the x forged better and was able to get a 4 iron off the deck into the air.

I liked the razr Fit 3 wood best too. I'm not sure if Callaway has just gotten a lot better over the passed few years, or I've just developed a bias towards them since getting the X hot driver.

I never actually asked them, but I'm almost positive because my clubs distances to the flags are right on.
The new monitors will estimate the ball flew ~80 yards while it really lands on the ~100 yard flag.
