In between OKC & Tulsa is Karsten Creek in Stillwater. It's the home course of the Oklahoma State golf team. Have your pro call and get you on. It's worth the trip.

In OKC try Silverhorn, Trosper Park, and Quail Creek. As mentioned Jimmie Austin and Belmar are only 20 minutes South in Norman. Another 10 minutes Southwest is Winter Creek in Blanchard.

Around Tulsa try Broken Arrow G&A Club, GCO, Forest Ridge, Emerald Falls, White Hawk in Bixby, Patriot in Owasso, and maybe someone here can get you on the Tulsa CC and/or Southern Hills. I wouldn't get my hopes up for the last two though.

The Bermuda is finally starting to green up around here and most everyone has punched their greens and fairways. Golf is really starting to get good.

The answer to better golf is work your butt off and learn how to hit it better, farther, and make more putts.

Cherokee Hills in Catoosa by the Hard Rock Casino is a test... some very slick turtle shell type greens there and a lot of elevation change. If they would fix the 6th green, it might be my favorite course in the area. It is a good value also.. I think it's only 30$.

Nitram has a really good list for the Tulsa area. Although GCO(Golf Club of Oklahoma) has always been out of my price range and is out of your stated range also, I have heard it is spectacular. Emerald Falls is right down the road from where I grew up and it is a great test too... some of the holes they cut through the valley are beautiful and tough.

Here's a link to a website that only lists the better golf courses, a few more than what has been mentioned here, and a map to show the locations:

When traveling I recommend signing up for golfnow.com it helps you get more bang for your golfing buck. Point in case we are playing Emerald Falls for just under $20 with a cart.

Golf Club of Oklahoma is my home course and it is spectacular and difficult. I've heard it compared to Karsten Creek in terms of difficulty and layout. OP - you are welcome to come out for a round. The guest fee is $100.

If you are looking at semi-privates in Tulsa then I recommend Emerald Falls, Forest Ridge and White Hawk. Cherokee Hills is a love it or hate it course am I am in the former category. For $40 it's hard to beat.

Emerald Falls is a great track with some challenging holes. The fairways at Emerald are Zorro-Zoysia and the club-head just glides through. Look online for discount rates of $30-$40. Emerald Falls and Forest Ridge are in Broken Arrow, East of Tulsa but easily accessible via the Creek Turnpike where you take the Kenosha Street exit. Forest Ridge is about 2 miles down Kenosha and Emerald is about 6.5 miles.

Forest Ridge runs through a neighborhood and is tight but is always well maintained. Forest Ridge has some beautiful holes that you will remember. Expect to pay about $50-60 at forest Ridge.

White Hawk is a solid track that is usually in good shape. White Hawk is south of Tulsa in Bixby and easy to get to. Expect to pay about $35 for a round.

If you can get on Southern Hills, Cedar Ridge or The Patriot then do it. The Patriot has a "Once in a Lifetime" rate of ~$175 for a round. Karsten Creek in Stillwater is supposed to be amazing but it's around $375 per round.

When I am in Norman/OKC I try to play Jimmie Austin in Norman. It is the home course for The University of Oklahoma and the non-Alumni rate is about $84. Lincoln Park West is a good muni just off N.E. 36 St. North and I-35. Lincoln is usually in good shape and it's a fun track. Belmar is a nice links style course but it's private now.
