I can picture it now. He is going to bomb it 295 in the fairway all week, win the Masters, and then pull it out of the bag a few weeks later for something else.

except he will lose by 2 because he will miss the putts with his ever changing grip

It just sounds like a driver with late 90s specs, haha. Great Big Bertha with a new paint job and pushed to the COR limit.

By the way, the Callaway marketing department has quite an easy job these days, just record Phil's interviews and/or press conferences and then add a picture of whatever club he is gushing over that minute to the end of the clip.

If I could have this club at 16-17* and 42.5"-43" it would be absolutely perfect. I use my 3-wood 98% off the tee and a 250 cc head with the ability to hit it off the fairway the other 2% of the time would be ideal. I would love the added confidence of a 250 cc head. Surprisingly I feel like I am alone in wanting this type of club. For me, I only hit the 3 wood when I need a club that goes 25-30 yards shorter off the tee. The combination of being a longer hitter and not playing course with long par 5's means I rarely/never hit the 3 wood from the fairway/rough. I constantly hear people wanting a 11-12* head that they can hit as far as their driver but more accurate. To me that isn't realistic, plus it just creates a larger gap from their 3 wood to the next club. I personally am trying to find a club I hit right in between my Driver and 19* hybrid. Hopefully one day a club like this comes out. In the meantime I have ordered a 14.5 3Deep at 42.5" that I am hoping does the job.

For what it is worth I don't think this club would sell that well in driver lofts. I think people are pretty comfortable with current size heads and moving back to smaller heads would not seem advantageous to them.

Isnt the 3Deep about 200cc? that would seem to be plenty big enough to do the job off the tee while being somewhat manageable for those who are capable of taking deep faced woods off the deck.

Most if not all of us would buy today if possible.

What happens if it actually works?

And i mean he wins or contends this week.

Keep in mind who is in charge here.

Shorter/Frequent product cycles/releases create buzz and momentum.

Retailers love it.

We love it.

Our wives . . . Not so much.

Cheers

Retailers do not love shorter product cycles!! It's a giant pain in the a**!!
[/quote]

Ok some retailers love it.

I get the fact the old inventory sits and collects dust when the new stuff comes out.

From the few i have talked to - I am not in the business - Buying less product/inventory in Jan and spreading out the release dates over the year - helps cash flow and creates foot traffic through out the year.

Cheers

How much company stock do you think Phil owns?
A real monster in every sense of the word!
If he contends or actually wins the tournment it will be epic as the public will turn out in droves.

I will take 2 please. Right handed.

My only request would be that it would adjustable from 8.5 to 11.5 or 9 to 12?

Cheers

I doubt this club will be adjustable based off of the other fwys not having that feature currently.

I really would be surprised if a 250cc driver head would sell like crazy. I'm constantly hearing people I play with talk about how much more confident they are hitting 460cc drivers.

The 3Deep is 13* (185cc) and 14.5* (180cc) by the way.

It might be something Phil asked Callaway to build for him. And to add good measure on top of that - It's a marketing ploy. ie It's only available in left hand... So everyone will cry for equality and the right hand will be released based on popular demand... The discussion on the Golf Channel where Phil is interviewed on his new driver kinda went amiss, Phil started to studder and the marketing element lost some momentum... Oh well, it all may lie in how he plays this weekend at the Masters.

I am thinking RZR Fit Xtreme Fairway Opt Fit system in this?

I am going to be plugging in Trinity Fairway into my 3 Deep 13 or the Matrix and would love the ability to swap shafts.

Loft changes would be a bonus.

There will be a few RZR Fit Xtreme Fairways out there soon? New . . . Used . . .

And I might even try a Trinity Fairway (Its 75 grams) in a 8.5 RZR Fit X Driver just for the heck of it until this thing becomes reality. Just add a 1/2" plug to the fairway and bombs away?

Cheers
