Callaway X Hot

Recommended Posts

The X Hot 3-wood is an extension of Callaway Golf’s X Fairway Woods line, incorporated with a larger head volume and shallow face for increased forgiveness and confidence. Its 455 Carpenter Steel face is lighter and stronger than a traditional stainless steel face, providing increased ball speed for unmatched distance from any other 3-wood Callaway Golf produces. The larger head volume helps Callaway Golf engineers raise the Moment of Inertia for greater forgiveness and more stability.

With its lighter and stronger face composed of 455 Carpenter Steel, the Callawy Golf X Hot Fairway Wood delivers increased ball speed off the clubhead for unmatched distance. This lighter steel also enables Callaway engineers to increase the clubhead volume, allowing for a higher Moment of Intertia, greater forgiveness and stability, and higher confidence at address.

Callaway Golf's unique X-Sole Design rests the clubhead on two distinct areas of the sole, eliminating the tendency of a head to rock back and forth, ensuring that shots start online.

The Callaway Golf X Hot Fairway Wood features a Fujikura Banzai shaft, providing great feel and exceptional control to compliment the X Hot head's performance. At 44 inches, this shaft increases clubhead speed for longer shots than ever before.

Callaway engineers have incorporated a number of patented technologies, including S2H2, increasing discretionary weight by removing it from the hosel and repositioning it in the perimeter of the clubhead and Tru-Bore technology providing improved feel and clubhead control.

I hit the 13* with a bonzai 65g shaft (not sure if this is custom or standard) and i was hitting it about 10 yards longer than the r7 titanium 3 wood and about 15 yards longer than the SQ2. I love the sound and it feels very solid at impact. I am not sure about the insert you guys were talking about, but I would reccommend this to people looking for distance and can afford to lose just a tad of forgiveness.

This is a great fairway wood. It took a while to get comfortable hitting it off the deck but a little (actually a lot) practice went a long way.

What shaft are folks playing in this club? The stock banzai feels kind of whippy in stiff and I am thinking of putting something else with a bit less torque for control. The current plan is to pop a proforce V2 75 in it since that seems to work well in my other three-wood.

Any comments would be appreciated.

Regards,

Nate

Just got one of these, and it's terrific. On certain occasions, I could see this club knocking my DRIVER out of the bag, and adding another hybrid or wedge. It's that long.

I almost drove a short par-4 with it the other day (not saying much, I'm a notoriously weak hitter) but it's working well for me.

Callaway is OUTSTANDING

I waited sometime before posting a review. I wanted to make sure this club was working out beofore I posted. I did not want to jink myself, and hopefully posting this review now won't. With that said, I love this club. I have owned several 3 woods and none have performed like this one. I have owned Taylormade R580, Adams, Cobra SS, Cobra hyper steel, Callaway fusion, etc. Nothing has performed like this club. It is great off the tee and I can hit it off the deck. I know the that some people have had trouble off the deck, but it has not been a problem for me though it usually is. It seems that this club just fits my swing. Now every shot has not been perfect, but I have been more consistent.

I hit this club extensively at Haggin Oaks (Morton Golf) when it first came on the market. I crushed the ball off the deck and off the tee. However, I had another 3 wood in my bag at the time and didn't feel like upgrading (I was a poor college student!).

Now I'm a poor English teacher but I lucked out and found a lightly used X-hot for $70 at a local golf store. I am extremely pleased and am looking forward to my upcoming rounds.

A friend let me borrow his 3 wood for a couple rounds. Long and straight for me off the tee. Decent off the deck

Does anyone have any details on the stock Fujikura Banzai shaft, stiff?

I have recenty bought one of these X Hot's and I am crushing this thing off the tee...hit one 262 last weekend and I am probably average around 250 off the tee. Just curious what the specs are on this shaft and cannot seem to find any info anywhere...thanks.

Kind of...but I wanted to know the actual torque numbers (like 3.5??)

I found this on Golfworks where someone said the torque was 3.2...but not sure how offical this is??? They all say it plays stiff.

I don't know the torque values I'd say my Banzai reg seems a lot stiffer than other Manufacturers Reg's / Firm. I'd shoot a mail over to Fujikura
