Regardless of speculation and past product life cycles, we know two things are certain (four if you include death and taxes)

1) We have an official PING i series price drop across the board
2) PING only drops its prices when new product is close behind
3) death
4) taxes

We can safely conclude that a new i series line is coming in the near future - BRING IT!!!!

Does that match the g25 pricing?

I am wondering if Ping is going to combine the S and I line into a single iron line. The S line has been out for a very long time without replacement, and the i20 has been out for a relatively short period of time. The 2013 Anser line is very similar in specs to the I line.

So . . . drop the price somewhat on the Anser line of irons and morph the S & I line into one. They already moved the G25 towards the I line, by thinning the top line and reducing offset and sole width.

Anyone else think they may be going this direction?

Bingo! Return of the SI line of years gone by. I25 CB and I25 Blade (in place of the S series).

Based purely on the timing of this release (early for the i-series and late for the s-series) I think you may be onto something there. It wouldn't surprise me a bit. I like it.

Oh I do like that idea. Had a set of i3+ and the blades and they were some of the best!

I bet they do a cast Anser for the i25 and small updates to the s56 and call em s55.

These are just my thoughts, I have no intel to point me here. Just as a disclaimer.

A Ping PGA Tour player
Did he give you any details on the i25's?
No details except that they will be in stores may 2013. Nome TR and a new standbag also coming May 2013
What's the story on the new stand bag? Dividers???

I recently started working at Golfsmith and heard on the way out the door today about a price drop on the i20's. I looked at the website a few minutes ago and it was still $699 for 8 sticks...same as a day or so ago when I looked at the website. Don't know if it's a further drop or not...find out tomorrow.

Our club is huge Ping fans, head pro is and has been an authorized fitter for years. Last weekend the assistant pro said he gets Ping gear at 30% below wholesale. Since I'm an authorized Ping fitter, I'm hoping to get that same deal but I may not rate just yet. Was VIP fitted at the factory last November. Didn't get the i20's but really wanted too. This may be the chance depending on what I can find out about the i25's.

Add me to the list of those who believe the i25 are only weeks away.

Guys the I-25 is coming, I actually caught a quick glimpse of the logo on an umbrella and saw the new stock shaft for the woods on a little trip to Phoenix a few weeks back. But I wouldnt hold my breath for a May release, Ping usually debuts their stuff at the British Open, so look for that July-August release that a previous poster mentioned.

Why are none of the Ping tour players using the anser woods? Everything I see is them using the G25.
Only guessing but I would assume the Anser is simply too low spin. Once the pro get's into the shaft that gives them the best trajectory and dispersion, it ends up being a 1700 RPM combo. Too low. The Anser had a large presence on the LPGA and with shorter knockers like Mark Wilson.

Same reason the R1 ver.2 was created for tour use only - higher spin than retail model.

Remember, it's just the WRX crowd that needs 1000rpm spin killing heads :)

I know the G25 was announced at the PGA show and released a couple months ago.

I ordered mine from a local golf shop (Golf Exchange). They have 3 stores so far and are also on the web. They are a GD top 100 fitter but I was fit by the Cincinnati Ping rep at an outdoor demo. Fantastic experience. The Rep dialed my toe hits to the center of the face and tightened my dispersion. I have got g25 5-U coming with XP s300 +1/4" longer than standard.
