PIng I-20 Price Drop - I-25 on the Way?

I see ANOTHER price drop this morning at Golksmith. 4-PW another $85 off...down to $615 for 8 sticks. Maybe the i25 rollout isn't for another 90+ days as many have said and Ping is trying to empty their inventory. I just don't recall how many G20 price drops before the G25's were announced.

Ah...counting before coffee again. Will I ever learn? My nephew hit me up for lunch money a few months ago before I had some coffee. Gave him a 20...he's in the 7th grade. I'm sure he was popular that day!

Agree. There were a bunch of heads in inventory when I was out there on a limited tour but I'm sure most are gone now with the i25's coming out in a few months.

Played today with our head pro and was shocked when I noticed he was playing with G25's rather than his i20's.

I can't imagine what they can do improve on them. I loved mine. I would guess a different finish.

Dark finish would be nice. $500 for silver i20s would be tolerable.

It still is an option at no up charge. I just got fitted for them at the factory and they are no charge or $5 per club for cushion inserts. THey just don't list it with the CFS.

I ordered my i20's on Monday the 29th at GolfSmith. I'm excited but its looking like I won't see them for a while

Hum...beej. I did an i20 fitting at Golfsmith for a guy yesterday and the estimate was 17 days. Easiest Ping fitting I've done. Static measurements, put a club together and he flushed every shot with a couple yards dispersion either side of dead straight. I made sure he wasn't "adjusting" his setup to the club and we placed the order. Only thing is we got to the front and when the cashier told him there was a $10 charge for each shaft he said no and went with the CFS without even trying the shaft. The kid pulled out a roll of 100's from mommy and daddy. His buddy sucked but INSISTED on RocketBalz irons in regular flex off the rack. $50 more I couldn't actually fit the kid with G25's.

Not sure what the timeframe was you were given beej or if you had something special done to your i20's so I assume you have or will be getting yours soon.

They'll be out in June, but in limited numbers (i.e., retailers will only get a few sets). Not sure if all retailers will get them in June, or just the ones who have a history of selling a lot of Ping product (like my guy).

Can someone help me out?

I ordered some Ping i20 irons on April 29th at $99 a club at GolfSmith.

On their site now they dare selling for $89.99 a club and in the description it says individual irons - black dot.

My question is, if I was fitted for irons and they are not black dots is the price $99 or $89.99 a club and would GolfSmith refund me the difference?

Second part of your question depends on Golfsmiths return/price change policy on custom orders.

I got to hit the i20 and Anser line today at Royal Oaks CC in Vancouver WA. The i20 was longer for me then the Anser. I wonder how the new i25 could be any better.

[/quote]i was told this weekend that due to the slow start to the season, Ping has decided to delay the launch of the i25's til the Spring in an attempt to give the G25's a better chance to take off. The sales meeting has been delayed as well.

Mine were delivered 2 days after launch with Z-Z65 cushin shafts - best shaft they make. Period.

Well that's a stupid decision on their part, if accurate. The i25 targets a totally different market than the g25. I love my i20 irons, but they're getting a bit long in the tooth. I would likely buy the i25's if they came out this Summer, but won't wait until next year. Guess I'll have to find another brand of irons to buy this year. Great Dilbert-like business decision, Ping!

Good source tells me Ping knows the i20's are a winner so the 25's will be a very minor tweak compared to the G20 to G25 transformation.

I know a pro who plays regular. He is in his twenties, and hits his driver 300 plus. He has a very smooth swing so he can play regular.
