Thanks. Interesting to see the inside of the balls. The Pro V1 looks so simple on the inside yet it's one of the best balls.

Whoever wants to say the ProV is the best ball has a point, and maybe that is true. But to say is the ball with the most innovation is another story. You can see every other manufacturer advancing the issue (NIke-core, Maxfli-layers, Bridgestone-fitting differentiation...). JM2C

I'll admit I was a little surprised to see the new ProV1's sweep all categories. If I can justify the expense I'll probably start playing it.

Worthless ever since they stopped doing the spin & launch angle charts.

It has just become a subjective rehash of popular opinion and/or who pays for the most ads. God for bid they piss off the big names. Same goes for all their other "Hot Lists" as well. Just a dumb rehash of what the local Golf Store salesmen pitch. No facts to back up any of their lists.

I wish I could sponsor a free-for-all golf ball robotic testing. Golfballtest.org is close as one can find but they only do limited selection of ball models as well as hide info for older models. Wish they would test low-cost balls like Topflite, Maxfli, Slazenger. And also allow us to see data from ALL their balls tested over the years for the used ball buyers out there.

The prov1 is not really innovative at all. I mean aside from minor changes like a new paint job or softer feel, i feel like i am basically getting the same ball every year ( whether this is good or bad depends on the person). When you ask me, i think of innovation as developing something new or revolutionary to the ball industry for the year. Sometimes i think Titleist has just gotten fat on the fact that the majority of pros use the ball and therefore the majority amateurs do as well. Not to say its a bad ball, i just feel that the balls popularity has kinda kept it from really advancing considering if they make too drastic changes everyone will complain that its not the same prov1.

And yes i understand the old saying that if it "aint broke dont fix it" but how about the saying "if you dont change it, you dont get the innovation leader award" ha ha

I thought I had missed something but there is zero actual information in there beyond the price of the ball and a paraphrase of the stuff written on the box of balls. This is worth anything to anybody?

I've always wondered why "Demand" is somehow a factor in what makes the equipment good or not.

Yup pretty much the hotlist is completely worthless without real scientific measurements being done.

The two important categories in this lackluster report appear to be performance and feel. If the ball performs the way I want and has the feel I prefer, I don't really care about the innovation behind it. If demand is low, I see that as positive as it might make it easier to identify my "low demand" ball against a competitor's close by "high demand" ball.

Just got the magazine today. It has the spin chart in it again. I was VERY pleased to see my call away chrome ball where it was. Lowest driver spin and right there with the highest half wedge spin rates. Just confirmed for me why I have loved this ball and its effect on my game since I started using it last year.
