Best ball for the money

CallawayKid86

Recommended Posts

Looking to get some ideas on the best ball for the money. So far we have:

Srixon Q Star - 50 for $43.99 shipped

TM TP Red\Red LDP - 100 for $79.99 shipped

TM TP Black\Black LDP - 100 for $79.99 shipped

TM Penta TP - 50 for $58.99 shipped

I have found good deals on all of these on LGB. Just wondering what everyone's thoughts are on these and if you have any other suggestions that can compete. I know a lot of people have thrown around the Gamer V2, but those are increasingly hard to find and DSG is killing them from what I have read.

Callaway Rogue SZ 10.5* W/ Matrix F7M2
Tour Edge Exotics XCG7 Beta 16.5* W/ Matrix F7M2 Proto

Adams Super LS 19* W/ Kuro Kage 80
Royal Collection Tour VS 5-PW W/ Aldila RIP Tour 115
Taylormade RAC Satin 50 + 54 W/ Aldila RIP Tour 115
MaxFli CrossBax 3.0 (#9 Style)
Bag - Honma Mini Staff
Ball - Taylormade RBZ Urethane

These are all good deals, but the best ball for the money is the one you play best and can afford. Personally I find the Penta TP to play -enough- like the Lethal to choose it at 1/4 the price for casual play. I probably would have jumped on the Blacks or Reds, but I don't like the 'mix' idea very much. One ball, please.

And all of my play is currently casual, so that works well.

Once the Lethal is available for $20/dozen in good shape, you'll have a hard time finding them before I do. :)

Edited to add one last thought: These are all available on good ol' eBay in smaller quantities, often at better deals. If you're not sure which ball is best, why not grab a dozen of each?

Best balls are any tour AAAAA ball on eBay.

I still don't know how stores sell brand new ProV1 for 50.00 when for that price you can get 3 dozen AAAAA

Which is basically brand new with maybe some player markings

Driver - TaylorMade M2 2017 - 9.5°
Fairway - TaylorMade RBZ 3 wood - 14.5°
Hybrid - TaylorMade RBZ 5 wood - 19°
Irons - PING i15 - 4 - PW / UW
Wedges - Taylormade MG2 54° / Hi Toe 58°
Putter - Cameron Newport 2 custom

Agreed. It does not make sense to pay full price, unless these people really like the packaging that much.

I don't buy used balls but as far as new balls go for my game the best deal is the TM Burner TP. A double dozen cost $26.99 and its a great 3 piece ball.
Off-topic only slightly: Why not any used balls? From what I see, for $27 you could get a double-dozen of any number of 2011-2012 premium balls in mint condition. V1/V1x will run you more, but if you're playing the Burner TP you could get twice the ball for your money, or twice the balls for your money.

Where do you find the Q star for that price?
Lostgolfballs.com on their eBay page. Shipping was free vs 7.99 a dozen on their site and charging about 13 for shipping.

I just happened to be in target this weekend and found a dozen of the TP black LDP in "refurbished" for 9.99. Mint balls and they performed exactly like a brand new TP black LDP. I don't usually buy refurbished, but these were a steal just for a test.

I don't buy used balls either. Don't see the point when FG Tour's are $15/dozen. There are often other deals too. Couple months ago Z-stars were three dozen for $55. Why buy recycled balls when deals like these exist?

Best ball period for money would be the FG Tour Blemish from BudgetGolf run about $15 a dozen and come in white or yellow.

I agree. They're awesome as it is and even better when you factor in price.

$15 per dozen, free shipping for orders over $100 which would be 7 dozen.

These are a FANTASTIC ball by the way. I was on a golf weekend in WV last weekend and played them for the first time and loved the control I had with all clubs.

I don't need more spin because my game doesn't depend on it. I don't play used balls because they all come from water and the woods. I don't need any of those unlucky balls making their way into my bag.

I'm certain that urethane is waterproof. All used balls I've weighed come in at 46g, just like new ones. Groups of 10 weigh in at 460g, just like new groups of 10. It is possible that I've managed to only get balls collected from golf courses in the Sahara, but I suspect some were muddy for a while….

The balata days are over, folks.

They seem to only be simple FG Tour. I haven't seen any X's in the 15 dozen I have looked through.
