i'm a little dissappointed that they messed with the lofts of the AP2's
The short irons are one degree difference... doubt anyone not on TV would even notice.
Seriously people, THIS. If it's really one degree, the difference is so minimal. The clubs you are playing now could very well be one degree off from spec anyway so it's not like it's even for sure that the current loft specs you have are actually what you are really using.
I don't believe my s59's are off from spec.

Lofts strengthened on the AP line? Not too much of a fan of that.
That jumped out at me, too. I'd prefer to keep the traditional lofts - esepcially considering they're the scoring clubs. And I can't tell if they're saying that the long irons soles have been widened or they just decreased the width of the short irons.

I like the new looks of the AP2, CB, and MB. The AP2s look pretty sleek. I like the new badging on the CB and MB. The engraving is more subtle than past models. From back a few yards all you see is "Titleist". Looks good to me! I'm not a fan of the change on the lofts though. I know it's all the rage, but... come on! Are they going to introduce an ad campaign that is all about distance (ala distance-ier)? If not they need to educate the modern golfer on what is important in those scoring clubs... consistency. (steps off of well worn "lofts" soapbox) :)

I know I could just call or email Titleist support, but does anyone happen to know when we could get fitted for the 714 series at the Carlsbad facility?
I'm going to guess mid to late August. When I got fitted at TPI in August 2011, my buddy and I were one of the first ones who got to get fitted for the 712 series.

AP2's look incredible, I have not been this excited for any release in forever!
Thanks for sharing the link. The AP2 do look nice. You gonna pick them up?
I will give them a run assuming they don't spin too much like the 712s did during testing.
I'm liking them too. These might be my xmas present unless Ping drops some S-Series irons. Gonna be an expensive fall.

Overall, I think Titleist have done a pretty smart job. The AP1's are a definite improvement in looks. The AP2's appear a little more 'edgy' in appearance, though I'm not sure if there will be enough of a performance evolution to displace my 710 AP2's. The CB's and MB's is where I think the 'model' looks really start to show itself. And although the AP2's are very nice, there may not be enough for me to change, However, the CB's and MB's have got my attention, and I feel a CB/MB Combo set coming on! Nice job Titleist.

Just skimmed through some of the comments from page 11 through 15. I would say that is a wide array of opinions! Some love, some hate, some indifferent....

I am holding out official judgement until I can see them in person. The topline look is such a huge factor for me. I've been struggling to make consistent strikes with my long irons lately, which is causing me to think about what my next iron set up will be. Based on what I've seen/read I am thinking I may want to try 3 712u, 4-6 AP2, 7-8 CB, 9-PW MB. This might really tweak my OCD, but I am willing to put up with it if I can start hitting my long irons better. Excited to test them out this fall/winter!

Is it just me, but the CB's and MB's look like the lower portion of the iron has more mass lower in the iron than the 710's and 712's. If that's the case, wouldn't it cause the irons to launch higher? If so, I'll stick with my 710's that I already hit high.

Sadly I was holding off and looking to get fitted in the 714. But it seems to me that they have just hired a few TM designers and gone a little silly.
I don't get that comment at all. I mean, all 4 look about 90% similar to the 712's. Not too much to get excited about here if we're being honest.

I am an AP1 type of player, 44 PW and 48 GW is a pretty annoying setup. Anything less than a 50 degree GW is silly, IMO.
That argument makes no sense. 44 PW and 48 GW means you literally have the same lofts as 7 years ago. Are you going to tell me lofts were silly in 2006? What's wrong with 44, 48, 52, 56, and 60?
Well, I suppose you can consider it that way - they've now fully made the transformation from 3-P (22 degrees to 48) to 4-GW (with the same 22 to 48 degree range). If you want to consider that a good thing, go ahead haha....

I have no problem with the lofts being what they're are, it's that they're different than what's been released in the past decade. I guess my issue is that some (WRX'ers mostly) that would be looking into a set like this would already have wedge setups based off a 50 degree gap wedge - since as you know 48 degree PW's have been rare lately.

But in reality the majority of the buying public will probably just buy the 4-GW set and a 56 degree sand wedge and not think twice. Talk "wedge gapping" with a non-WRX'er and be prepared to get looked at like you have 3 eyes.
