I m 5" 6 and I just purchased a set of xhot pros. I should have custom ordered but the hoe in me wanted them yesterday. So they seem too long. I want them .5 inch shorter but want the same swing weight. It's a d2 and a 7 iron is at 37" . I have the stock flighted px 6.0 95 gram shafts. How much lead tape should I add to get me back to a d2? I m very green to club building. I see I need 3 swing weight Pts if I cut .5 inches. Thanks for input

at 5'6'' Id almost think a full inch off would be a better fit, but obviously there are more variables unknown.....do you knock the lie down alot at all?

1 inch down on irons is A LOT, but whats your wrist to floor measure ?

2 flat almost adds 1 SW point (3 flat adds 1) since we move COG further away from the grip end going flat

Never mind SW numbers, play them, add weight until you are happy and dont look back

Agreed with Howard. I'm of the thinking that proper fitting of length and lie is FAR more important than SW. For me in fact I have never actually swing weighted any of my clubs.

I just never got why every one thinks they'll correct fit for them is standard L,L,L but then insist on the correct length putter. I play a 33 inch putter so to me it stands to reason that the rest of my clubs Should be shorter

24 inches from tip of middle finger to floor with bare feet

Dont help me much, so how long is your hand from your wrist to the longest finger tip ?
- Wrist to floor with golf shoes on is what we use to find a starting point

A dynamic fitting is best. I am also short. Don't be in a hurry to cut your clubs down. Get the lie angle right. 2* is probably close. Turns out my arms are shorter than my legs. I kept playing with short clubs, and actually needed .5" longer than standard. Choke down for a few rounds and practice sessions and take note of your misses.

32.25 from wrist to floor with shoe on. 7.5 from tip of middle finger to base of wrist .

0.5 below standard is a good starting point, 1 inch down is too much

    • Sony Open Pics from January 11, 2022 Part 1
I was able to get out to the Sony Open today to take a few pics.  I guess due to Covid precautions they kept the spectators pretty far from the players.  Also due to camera restrictions they've put in place, I wasn't able to bring the big lens like I normally do. Hopefully they'll ease up on the ropes and I'll be able to get more pics tomorrow!
