Golf in Korea

Hello All,

I'm an American long-term permanent resident of South Korea. I'm also a golfer, despite how expensive and difficult it is to do so here. For anyone else looking to get out and play, feel free to join our group over on facebook. https://www.facebook.com/groups/seoulgolfers/

Also if you are planning a vacation to Korea and want to play, booking most places can be almost impossible if you can't read/speak Korean. If you need any help booking tee times or simply want to know more about golf here, please feel free to contact me.

Thanks,

-Cory

Hi Cory, I just wanted to say how awsome it is that you are helping Americans in Korea! I myself go to Korea every year but fortunately I can speak Korean. I know how much time and money it costs to go on a course in Korea ( I used to live in Busan). I hope everyone can get help from cory and have a good time in Korea!

I just moved to Daegu, South Korea from San Diego,CA not too long ago. Any tips on where I can go to get my irons loft and lie adjusted or a good fitting place near me? im in Dalseo-Gu. I been golfing all around daegu and love the courses here. Any help would be great! Thanks

There are a few fitting shops in Seoul, but around Daegu I have no idea. From what I've seen, custom fitting isn't all that big around here. I would think a club pro in your area could tell you though,

Cory,

Thanks for helping out other Americans. I wish i would have seen this posting some time ago. I was golfing up until July when i had shoulder surgerey. I would play Sung Num due to me being military, but wanted to try an actual Korean course but never had any help. I will pass your information on to a friend who is still here for some time. thanks again

Feel free to pass along the info or join the FB group posted above. I'd love the chance to play Sung Nam as well as a guest, so would be great having a connection. Also, now that the cold has come in, an avid foreign golfer here has started a screen golf winter tournament series. Not the same as being out on the course, but much cheaper and good fun. More players are welcome.

Hey Friends,

Heading to Jeju Island tomorrow and will visit Seoul for 2 days afterwards. I'm interested in checking out some Driving Ranges/Practice Facilities in these locations as well as some Golf Shops. In general, I want to get a sense of the current state of the Golf Market in South Korea.

Any suggestions are deeply appreciated.

Regards,

Cris

I worked in Ulsan a long time ago and played a couple of courses.

Tongdosa between Ulsan and Pusan I remember and also Kyungju?

They had a public course also which was quite cheap at the time. They had 2 greens each hole.one bent grass and one bermuda for the different weather conditions.

I always remember how quickly the weather changes, from winter to summer is just a few days.and vise versa in November time

Ulsan/Pusan area is much milder than Seoul we were frozen out just a few weeks a year.By end of February it was mild again and nice golfing weather

I know this is an old thread but I'm an American living in Korea for the next year and I'm a golf nut. So far I've only played US military courses but looking at going down to the south side of the country in December. I know it's cold but want to play South Cape Club in Namhae, Yeosu CC and some other courses down that way. As mentioned not knowing Korean makes it difficult to arrange the golf. I sent an e-mail to South Cape and got a response in English so that looks promising, also had a Korean speaking friend call Yeosu and it sounded like it was public (mandatory caddie for 4 people however).

I requested to join the FB page so will also post there when allowed.

    • In-hand photos of 2023 TaylorMade Stealth 2 Plus, Stealth 2, Stealth 2 HD drivers + fairways woods
Check out our front page launch stories here and here.

What you need to know: For the first time, carbon is the most prevalent material by volume in a TaylorMade driver, and more carbon equals better performance, says the company. Last year, TaylorMade debuted a 60X Carbon Twist Face. With TaylorMade Stealth 2, engineers are bringing carbon to more of the golf club — and unveiling a new-and-improved Carbon Twist Face in the process. Stealth 2 Plus (low spin, most workable) Stealth 2, and Stealth 2 HD (draw bias, high launch, most forgiving) drivers make up the Stealth 2 family.

What you need to know: Breakthrough movable weight technologies and versatile designs are the hallmarks of the 2023 TaylorMade Stealth 2 fairway woods. Stealth 2 Plus is branded as “three fairway woods in one” owing to the unique performance characteristics afforded by the 50-gram sole weight. Stealth 2 features a slightly lower profile 3D carbon crown than Stealth. This moves CG down and away from the toe with more weight in the rear of the club for higher launch and MOI. Ultra-high MOI Stealth 2 HD features an oversized 200cc head and low-profile sole, creating an easy-to-hit, draw-biased club.
