Intercity went great. I'd never seen the course before. Everywhere the host told me to hit, I hit. I hit it OB, hit it in hazard, and had three three-putts. Still shot 76! I think it was lowest round of the day. Same as Lucas Black on his home course.

Excited about the qualifier in the morning.

I used to be scared of hitting driver. Since my lesson with Dan, I have felt it is now a weapon. My fairway percentage wasn't great, but my misses were great.

Short game work last week at Oak Tree with Lv_2_hack was invaluable. We worked on hitting the high pitch and flop. I had one today, downwind, downhill, down grain with a bunker in front and water long. Almost jarred it, lipped out, and I hit the come back seven-footer.

For the first round, I am the first group off #1 at 7:30 AM. For the second round, I'm the first group of the afternoon wave off #10 at 12:30.

 

We got our information packet, including rules, pace of play guidelines, and all that jazz. I will be sure to read through it and not pull a Johnson/Janzen.

 

CallawayLefty was kind enough to give me wealth of information on the course and some tips how to play certain holes. I know it will prove invaluable.

Played in Intercity last night at the same course where my qualifier was. We played the Mens tees, instead of the Championship tees. Shot a nice cool 74 that could have been really low.

10 footer for eagle on #2 hit a spike mark 5 foot from the hole and ended on the lip in the jaws. Probably would have won me a skin ($500).

No swing analysis right now. It's game time.

Got done with my practice round a few hours ago. This course would be DIFFICULT if you've never seen it before. I will only hit two drivers on the front nine, four on the back. I will hit a TON of hybrid, which plays to my strength. With the doglegs and strategic fairway bunkers, most approaches will come from 160-175. The greens are the largest I have ever seen. There are SEVEN pin positions per green. Tons of different sections. Hitting fairways and (lag) putting will be key.

Probably missed the cut by 10-11 shots. It was a great learning experience. I was really happy with my ball-striking. Putting is another thing. I had 36 and 41 putts in my two rounds. FORTY-ONE! Had an awful time reading the greens. Never burned so many edges.

For my first time playing in something like this, I'm proud getting as far as I did. Looking forward to more progress and getting another crack next summer.
